how to get on at school

i no this has nothing to do with skiing but this is a serious problem, our damn school blocked NS and i need to get on at school i have keyboarding next year and i need something 2 do!!! anyone have any tricks to get on or past the block?

A lot of schools use proxy servers to access the web. The specific proxy they are using filters out certain sites.

What you guys need is a un-filtered proxy server.

Proxy servers are computers (just like the computer that is running ns) which allow you to use there internet. So, by accessing the web via that computer your able to bypass any filters that your school has.

You can find TONS of proxy servers just by searching for them in google. Also, some pages like (www.megaproxy.com) I think have some.

my school has blocked almost every site, all the ones with games, ebay, and most importantly NS. what is so bad about these anyway

Yeah, you need a proxy.

there is a huge list at tehbox.com/proxy, but it is blocked by most schools, as are most anonymous surfing sites and sites that show a list of proxies.

There are two types of proxies, cgi-proxies (operate through a script, dont have to mess with any browser settings), and there are regular proxies (machines that you directly connect to get on the web).

If your schools admins are dumbasses, you should be able to access the internet options fairly easily. If you can, go to the connections tab, and uncheck 'connect through a proxy' if it is checked, or if it isnt, type in the info you got on the site above. Just make sure you change the settings back when you leave, or you could get caught.

This only works on filtering software outside of your computer thats installed on the server (I know Bess is one), and wont work if you have a content filter. (software that searches a page for words such as porn, penis, etc. IE netnanny and some others).

If you have a content filter rather than a domain blocking system, your out of luck, unless you can gain access to an administrator account, or you really know what your doing.

my school lets you but sometimes i cannot read the full forums. like if it has the word 'sex' or something it picks it up as porn and the bottom half or so of the forum never comes in. other than that our school lets us go onto whatever websites we want

Does it have XP on your computers? If it does, go to my computer, C drive, find the SYSTEM folder, open that, find System32 (another file.) A black screen will come up. Find where you can put in addresses. Put in NS. Find the IP. Enter the IP. It will bring you to the site. Good game.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.
 
alot of schools lock certain folders some kids will have to crack that before they can change it
