sans car, with a ski bag and equipment.
this sounds a bit difficult, since it looks like the ferry terminals are nowhere near the city centers, and then how do i catch a bus from there?
any help appreciated!

take the ferry to tsawwassen. see if the greyhound can pick you up there and go. If not take the local bus to a greyhound stop and take the greyhound to whistler. Make sure you book the greyhound in advance though. And dont sleep on the greyhound cause there is a chance someone might cut your head off. Good luck

You can get on the pacific coachlines bus (www.pacificcoach.com) at the bus depot in downtown Victoria, it will take you all the way (via tssawassen) to the Bus deopt in Vancouver, where you can get on a greyhound to Whistler. That is the easiest and fastest way. But the cheapest way would be to take public transit to the ferry, then public transit from tssawassen into vancouver. From there you could always hitchike, or greyhound. But yeah, no sleeping on the greyhound.
