How To Fix Skis

well I've gashed the sides of my PEs and the top sheet is lifting up at the edges, I take it I need to Epoxy them, but how, and what kind of epoxy am I looking for ? I would take them to be serviced but I'm a few hours away from the closest ski shop...

Do you have pics of the damage?

other wise i like to mix an all temp epoxy with Shoe Goo, the Shoe Goo gives the mixture some elasticity so the ski can flex with out having the epoxy chip off.

make the mixture and youll have to play around a little with it, put it under the delam and c clamp the shit out if it.
 
how old are they?! if they are delaming that is a manufacture prob and K2 rocks at the warrenties! you could get next years extremes if you play ur cards right?!
 
they're the 2005-2006, and yea they're delaming, do you reakon they're too old for K2 to warranty replace? they've only been skied 3 weeks per year (I live in England)
 
ya man! just call up K2 and ask them bout it.. they really are bomb about hooking their customers up like that... they should NOT delam.. but it depends how beat they are also... so!? its a gamble but its one thats worth takin up... let me know what happens...

also if you could the best thing to do is to take them to an athorized dealer. they SHOULD help you out... we would at my shop but some shops are doche bags bout it

for instance.... i blew out my edge on this rail on a pair of older fujatives and i called them up they asked for a picture so i sent them one off my phone. they said it looks legit i sent it back i got the next seasons ski before they were even out! so defi get an e-mail out but for sure try to talk to someone on the phone! and if neither of them work out get ur ass in a shop... haha just from personal experience... hope it helps
 
well I've sent an email, just have to hope they take pity on a skint student who lives in the UK and can only ski on them 3 times a year....
 
my invaders have so many chips in them, and one of them is to the core and it was always wet and it bothered me when i was skiing so i just put some gorrilla glue on it and all the other chips and it works great.
 
we have the same amount of posts... well before i post this.. haha....

anyways... i really hope they pull thru for ya... let us kno...
 
and we both have "griff" in our names, anyway, yea I'll let you know, I haven't received a reply yet... I'll give them a few more days, I don't particularly want to leave it much longer, since that fir core isn't gonna stay dry for ever...
 
ya man that would be no bueno at all! seriously tho i kno you said ur a few hours away from a shop but make a trip out of it bring ur friends if you dont getta reply from them either... and maybe call up the shop that carries them before you make the long expedition out thurrr... haha laters!
 
hell yes! thats exactly what they had me do?! hope it turns out! im actually sendin back a pair of my friends FUJIS also that the tail delamed haha shitty K2 haha... NAUGHT... well ok... i still like em.
 
I know what you mean, as bad as the delam problem is, K2 still rock... I hope I get new PEs :P and I hope the pictures demonstrated the problem enough, I've noticed more delaming since. pfhhh
 
K2 have asked for me to send them to them, so I will be soon ! unfortunately I don't have any proof of purchase for the skis :S
 
ya they said the same thing about my friends.. but its still worth a try! especially if they still told you to send them in?!
