How to do tailpresses

I search for tailpresses and I couldn't find anything so don't give me shit.

So, I'm having trouble staying on rails/boxes when I try tailpresses, I come off early and slide my tails out. what am I doing wrong?

try for a little at a time and make sure u lean really far back i have the same problem with tail presses but for nose presses that seems to work

your gonna want to try to pretend like your sitting in a chair... thats what I do at least. That way your wieght will stay centered while your still leaning back. IF you just try to lean back then you will either slide off the rail fowards.. which makes you come off switch, or you will fall on the rail and slide it with some sort of body part. It sounds like you may just be pushing your weight back which will make your skis slide foward off the rail. Try the sitting thing, and take it a little at a time. Boxes are the best to try it on because you can get on them like if you were gonna slide it midsole, and the sort of move your skis out for a press... hopefully that all makes sense, and gl

^good advice. think about buttering, how you stay on your tails, then just try to tail-butter the box

That is indeed good advice. Another technique that is easier starting out, although it looks somewhat more forced, and you will not be pressing the entire feature, is to get on the box or rail centered and poke your tips forward and sit.

Although if you can sit initially, do that! It is all the nicer.

if your talking about my post, Thanks!

I've got tons of shit just waiting for ppl to find out... that didn't come out right, let me say that another way... I've done lots of homework for myself on how shit is done in the park, and out of the park, and i'm glade to share my experiences

yeah i think the easiest way to learn is just get on the box in a normal position pretty much.

in you want to start out in a press go up the side of the lip that your boots will be closer to when hanging hanging off the rail. Like if you are coming in for a nosepress and grind right foot forward, start a little bit farther right than you normally would. For a tail press, once again sliding right foot forward, go up the left side of the lip.

they are so much easier than you think, your just going HUGE tailpress. A good trailpress has alittle space between the rail and the back of your binding. Just go up w/ a fair amount of speed and hit it a little to one side. You'll get it after practice

for me nosepresses are easier, but a little more intimidating, because your face is basically headed straight for the rail, where as on a tail press its just your ass.

I think starting switch really helps to get the weight over the tails. I dunno, I have trouble doing them when I try going foward.
