How to convert a snowblader?

aight. so my cousin has wanted to ski the park with me for a while (he lives pretty far away so we dont get to ski much) and hes a snoowblader. how do you convert someone of that type to a freeskier? without calling them gay...

Why convert him? I ride with some kids who can rip on skiboards. They can definitely hit most of the jumps in teh park too, minus maybe thebiggest ones, but skiboards are definitely legit. they can shred some pow on them too. They can't ride as fast through deep stuff but they have just as much fun and the short boards really don't limit the terrain they can hit. From what I've seen i might even like skiboarding better. I like riding on skis better but i like riding with skiboarders better. Theres no hate between them, they are just having fun ripping around the mountain, and it is not nearly as much of a fashion show. They all just seem to have a way more positive attitude about riding. Skiboards are actually really fun in the park once in a while too. you can get crazy tech on rails and it helps you learn not to land backseat. They are a good tool to bring up your confidence when you go back to skis. I would probably never convert to skiboarding but I don't see why people have such beef with it.

My girlfriend was trying to read me the breakfast menu for a restaurant and I read that and just started cracking up. I got the evil eye.

skiboarding is sick, i do it, but the downside is when the snow is uneven, and you get the piles of snow, i loose all my speed and fall forward. fun though.

I have old skiblades from back before twin tips really got popular and they are fun to fuck around on a couple days a season. You carve lines in a slightly different way and its just fun to see how many people go WTF? Also I think its a good way to get more people into skiing, I've known lots of people who used to rollerblade alot and would never consider skiing before hearing about skiblades.

start em off on some really short planks, like 158-161, the weight difference is minor, and it is pretty easy.

I "snowbladed" for a year. To be honest, it was a bunch of fun and I'm glad I did it because it turned me onto twin tip skis. At the time this was happening, most of you weren't in school yet.
Shred the park with him. If he wants to switch, he'll switch. I know I started skiing again after going to Mt Snow with my friends and I simply wasn't able to hit the bigger jumps comfortably.
To each his own. I think the most important thing is having a good time with your cousin.

get him a g suit and hellbents. then tell him to get better at skiing by watching scott vail. just like the rest of ns. thn he will love our sport forever!
hahaha, jk, but really, how good is he? can he like slay the park or does he like never even go to the mountain anyway? just let him know what its like to ski. the benefits and the downsides

naww, hes sort of a gaper in the park, so i want him to get some longer skis, (twin tips preferably) so he can learn to slay the park. but also hit up some groomers on occasion.

me and my friends converted a blader last season simply by inviting him to ride with us every weekend..now he has an old pair of ar5s and kills it
