So Idk if this rumor i true but ive heard that washing/drying outerwear can damage the waterproofing on it. im wondering if this is true? and if it is a good alternative to clean your outerwear.
A quick response would be really nice because i went skiing today and im going tomorrow so i need to dry my stuff quick but i dont wanna ruin it.
like said +karma for any helpers.
sorry if its a repost i did a quick searchbar but im in a hurry

yes the detergent can strip the waterproof from your jacket, if you plan to wash it use nikwax techwash there is a nikwax techwash and then a nikwax waterproofer [only if you need to] but if its washed with the techwash you shouldnt need to waterproof it.

as for drying im not sure on that, i just air dry my stuff

for most outerwear you would wash cold then hang dry. never heat/tumble dry. depending on the brand though, you may need to do something different. hope this helps.

As others have said, wash it with nikwax. And wash it according to the manufacturers directions on the tag.

my jacket and pants didnt come with washing directions. im just going to avoid washing them as much as possible and when i do not using very much conditioner.
