How quickly do urban skiers get through skis?

For casual urban skiers hitting normal handrails stairs don't do a whole lot of damage aside from nuking the bases and edges. The ski will probably be ridable for the entire season. I've got no idea how to put it into numbers but I've got a feeling that skiers hitting massive features with high impacts will go through a quite few pairs. That being said, my urban pair of K2 shredditor 92s snapped in half from popping a small ollie at a rail jam. rip

I went through 5 pairs in one season, that's the most I've done and 3 of those were already pretty beat. One was brand new and I can't remember the other one. RIP. Usually I go through 2-3 pairs a season, though some of the damage is from riding a lot of park. Most of the damage comes from coming off early onto the stairs/concrete and riding out through parking lots.

I've also gone through one pair of knees though that was way more from park than urban. My skis might actually survive this year since it doesn't look like I'll be hitting a whole lot of urban or park this year with my patellar tendinopathy.

I've always wondered

I know the K2 guy told me that Sean Jordan and Clayton Villa actually only go through one maybe two a season.

Kind of blows me away TBH.

I gotta say tho it's more likely what they want you to think and not necessarily based in reality

No it was reality. We were working on a whole thing around it but it never came to fruition.
