Hey I'm real bored right now and I was just wonderin how old you guys actually started 'newschooling' And like what tricks did you guys start with. I started as a snowbladed when i was like 12, and was doing my first fakie fronts that year, then when i was 13 I did my first back skis. And thats my story. What about you guys?

i've skied on and off, nothing serious. just got into new school this year (i'm 16), and its on snowblades. i've only been out once this year too, cuz of work and lack of snow here. i started off doing a couple rails last year. so far (in my one time out) i've busted out a bunch of 180s and some 180 indy grabs and tail grabs, a couple of crosses. there was nothing there to hit in the first place, only 6 runs open, but i'm looking to progress a lot this year

Last year was my first year trying to hit jumps. I didn't have twin tips, but its all good.

I just hucked myself in the park, was throwing whacked lincolns or something like that.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

i am currently 16. I started going off little jumps and never made the landing at 14. nobody tried anything at my hill back then so i didn't either. was more into glades n shiz. i did try some 360's but always bailed at 180. i started to finally get down some small 3's last day of the year. Last year i started to put crosses in my 3's and wasn't into grabbing but i was doing 5's by x-mas, 7's by feb. then i did a few 9's in march. This year i'm grabbing with my 5's and 7's, leanred rails so i can do those now pretty good...can do un nats too. and i started doin like, switch 3's this year. probably a switch 5 safety real soon. but yeah. Summary: last year i couldn't do a 3. now beginning of this year i can do 7 grabs n switch n rails. by end of year hopefully to be doing misty's or corks or somethin.

i pretty much just got into newschool this year at camp. i always hung out in tha park, but never really tried anything. every once in a while i's try some rails and shit, but this year i'm gonna try to get better in the park

i started hitting jumps last year in my first year of skiing(13) and now im doin 180s 3s and tones of grabs lerning how to grind

yeah i'm 16 this year an i started riding line 1260's. i can do some lil shit liek 180 and 360, switch 180, ironcross and some grabd but nothing to stylie. last year i started by riding the blades (salomon). Snopunk and i ride togther around here, so we are planned to get out more.

i started freestyle when i was 12 and i'm 15 now and am progressing superfast cause of camp, don't listen to mad trixx, he still won't do anyhting this year

' Anyone smell that up-G?' Chris Turpin

I flunked out of school cause i'm hardcore.

And this whole time i thought my penis was just inside out.

first time i went off a jump was about 4 years ago but im 20 now and doin 180 crosses but unforunetly i only get to a mountain about 2-3 times a year so hopefuly this year ill get out some more

yesterday i learned a 180!!!!!

i predict in year 2010 there will be no snowboarders and all freeskiers , why because skiing kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i won't try anything big, but i try more this year. we still don't really have any jumps yet though. we have a lil table, but it sucks, and we have a 12 foot rail that alright to hit. but other than that there's nothing

hmm, i started on snowblades (regretfully) when i was 11. Then got my gfirst twins at 12...learned all kinds of shit. Learned my first backflip this summer at camp at age 14. And now do shit loads of rails and spin onto and off of em and what not.

started when i was 14 on some k2 poachers doin 180s and 3s, learned frontflips the next sumemr at camp, 5s when i was 15 along with misty flips and a cork 5 kind of thing, last year grabs with spins flatspin 5 and switch spins, and this year startin to get some more style and unnatural along with hopefully corks and more tech switch stuff

This is my story: It all started one winter a few years back. I was about 12. I took a ski lesson at a nearby ski hill. After a few hours of skiing I thought it wasnt for me and I left. I went one more time that year. That was the first time I had ever seen snowblades.

The next year I was ready to try again. I saw snowblades and thought they looked fun. They were way easier than skiing so I bought some and learned 180's, 360's, and grabs. The next season I started having less fun on snowblades. They were getting gay. Midseason I purchased some Line 1260's. That day I was going twice as big as I ever did on snowblades and I wondered why I didnt like skiing that first time. I got better at skiing that year and finally landed a 360 on skis the last day of the season.

This year I couldnt wait to ski. I thought about it all summer. I've gotten good at some grabs and gotten consistent with 180's. I've even hit some jumps switch. The 3 has eluded my. I think it is due to my shitty bindings releasing in the last 90 degrees of rotation. I adjusted my bindings and disaster struck. I messed up my arm really bad lifting logs at my cabin. This put me out for a few days of good skiing and thwarted my chances of trying it again. My shoulder has healed and I am ready to try it again. The next day the jump is perfect with a soft landing I will do it. That is my story.

My girlfriend told me to shove my skis up my ass

I've skied maybe ten days a year for the last maye ten years. I'm now 19. just bought twins this summer. I landed a few 3s last year(maybe 5). Bought a seasons pass this year, and can now consistantly grab on 180s, and spin threes. I've done a few switch 1s and 3s, but bailed about a week ago, and havn't had the balls to push myself sinse. thats pretty much my ns story

I started skiing last year and I started by learning and getting good with the basics and then I started to ski deep stuff and then one day my friends were making a jump outside my house so I started hitting it and doing small Safety Taps, then 180s, then 360s.

Then I started just hitting the jumps in the park more and skiing more moguls and powder to get better at the basic skills. Then I tried rails. I'm still a pretty sketchy skier but in the air I'm a little smoother so I hope to perfect everything to my best ability this year.

Hehe you are all kids, am i the only grown up here ?

I’m 27 years old, been skiing since I was able to walk. Started to do flips and bigger tricks at the age of 14. I used to ski with boarders so making grabs and trying to ski pipe started about then, but of cause it wasn’t anything close to what newschool have become the last 5 years. So I guess you start newschooling the day you start trying to do what snowboarders do with sticks on your feet.

nice, alot more people then I thought actually started on blades like I did. I think blades are the gateway drug, for bigger and better drugs (skis)

I learned to ski when I was like 9. I was gettin air when I was 11. Last year I learned pipe and 180's. This year I'm 13 and workin on 3's and grabs.

What do rocks and chicks have in common?

You skip the flat ones!!!!

are 180s supposed to be hard? its the first and only jump with a name that i've ever tried and i got it the first time (last year). but i'm a little scared to do anything else because the rest seems hard - especially in the parks out here where the hits are way bigger than in ny and because my body is already so damaged. i wish i was cool with newschool, but i shoulda learned the tricks at a lame park when i was younger.

i wish i could go off jumps!!!!

i predict in year 2010 there will be no snowboarders and all freeskiers , why because skiing kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
