How much water do you drink a day?

Im just curious as to how much you guys drink a day. When i was young i was really unhealthy, and barely ever drank any water. when my athletic performance got worse and worse around middle school i resolved to drink more water. now on most days i get close to a gallon of water a day, and i cant imagine anything less. i feel horrible if i dont keep my water intake up. my body is completely used to it. My girlfriend on the other hand will drink a glass of water a day or less for days in a row (depending on what she is doing like working out or whatever). some days she goes without water completely.

which end of the spectrum are you on?

 
lol it varies from day to day if im working ill drink a shit load if i drank the night before ill drink alot of water but on average 0-2 glasses a day
 
I read he was really unhealthy then I quit reading what he had to say.

And to that I say...would you want to be with his girlfriend given how unhealthy he admits he is? What if shes got what hes got?

 
Lately i've been stepping up how much water i drink, it really is the healthiest thing you can do for your body. 8 glasses of water a day can keep you more vitalized that downing a couple ups of coffee.

usually around 4 nalgenes (thats about a gallon) some days more some days less...but every day a good amount. I've always drank alot of water though.
 
the theory of needing 8 full glasses of water a day is probably not true. you are supposed to just drink when you feel thirsty. i don't know what is best, but my drinking habits vary from 0 glasses to 10 depending on the daily activities. i drink a lot of juices and milk.
 
I don't like soda or even juice most of the time, so I drink water about 99% of the time. So quite a bit.
 
Around 2 glasses between the time i wake up and 4 PM, not including coffee and tea. Then until the time i go to sleep I probably drink 7 glasses
 
lately, ive definitely been on your end. i try to drink like 5, 16 oz bottles a day and i feel so much better. getting out of bed in the morning is so much easier as well.
 
Yea, hate to break it to you but your not really correct. Your body lets you know it is dehydrated by making you feel thirsty (I'm talkin real thirst, not the kind you get while eating) by that point it is too late. Any water you drink can take up to 12 hours to disolve completly into your system and benefit you. You need to be drinking water even if your not really thirsty to keep your body fully hydrated. Most professional athletes and personal trainers will tell you to drink about 3/4 of a gallon of water a day. It seems like alot at first but after a few days it feels like nothing and your body will feel revitalized and fresh.

 
I try to shoot for around a little less then a gallon a day. mostly at meals I have a ton. I have no idea how some people can live off of soda. i needs my h20
 
Also, unless your drinking skim milk or squeezing your own juice, those arent really that good for you either and are def NOT an adequate substitute for water. Milk, even skim milk, has alot of Fat in it, and most juices that you buy from a store in a bottle are loaded with sugars, even alot of "natural" sugars can be bad for you. Sugar is actually one of the worst things you can put in your body when your dehydrated.

but its not like i follow my own advice cus I love me some Monster and Alcohol, which are HORRIBLE for me, but oh well they taste fucking amazing.
 
i drink about half a gallon of skim milk every day and close to a whole gallon of water if I exercise a lot. On average days its probably more than half a gallon of water. I always make sure to drink a lot of milk tho
 
i am about here.. it makes your skin amazing and the fastest way to wake up is to drink and nice big glass of water!!
 
I always have a glass of water (about the size of a can) at my desk and refill when it's empty. So I don't really keep count of how many I go through in a day, but it's probably around 5 or 6. I feel so much better when I'm drinking lots of water and pissing clear. If you're pee is yellow you're probably not drinking enough water.
I downed one glass in the time it took to write this right now. Just sayin'
 
Depends, I worked in the sun this summer, I drank about a gallon a day, but now I rarely drink any water.

Isn't Monster a suitable substitute for water?
 
As I clicked on your thread I put a glass of water to mouth without realising what I was reading!
And how much I drink, I don't know in gallons. Probably about 9 glasses a day, alot anyway.
 
I drink about 3 waters a day. I hate the taste of water but I force myself to drink 3 bottled waters a day because, it's healthy, and I tend to drink a lot of soda which actually dehydrates you.
 
I have to take a piss about ever hour in the evening due to large water intake. I find throwing a bit of lemon juice in there makes it much more enjoyable. It helps to hold off the munchies too
 
gal a day. I found that if you drink less then you try to drink a bunch you will have to piss a lot.

Also I heard that drinking a ton of water is really bad for you. A gallon evenly spaced is even a little much in my opinion. I count when I mix with protein though.
 
if i drink water during the day of an xc meet i find myself in the bathroom every hour too, it sucks, but its super healthy and so much better so i guess i dont mind it too much
 
i drink atleast 2-3 Sigg bottles worth of water a day. I'm on adderall and it just sucks the water out of me (like from everywhere... i get chapped lips, dry mouth, dry shit). now i drink a lot more, and its not really fixing the problems, but i mean, im healthier...
 
Ha OP's story is pretty much like mine.

I can't tell you how much I drink a day. I drink from water fountains and cups so it's hard to tell. I can tell you that I pee so many times a day and it's always clear ;)
 
oh, i meant to say 2-3 sigg bottles worth AT SCHOOL. that doesn't count football practice or later in the day

god, by like second or third period, i end up having to piss like twice a class, but i never wanna leave twice...
 
Drinking ridiculous amounts of water every day has given me the most amazing pee holding abilities ever. Like I go all the time, but if I don't have an out to go, I just don't have to. I can hold it for hours. And I've only been drinking like this for a couple months. I'm gonna have a super bladder in a year!
 
I've been running the upwards of 10 miles per day, so i drink a lot. Probably a little more than 2 gallons a day.

i don't think its good to hold it... remember in Liar Liar where he needed to pee, and the judge said hold it, and he said its not good for you, and the judge said really? and jim carey is like, it has to be...

is that healthy? what if you cant find a bathroom, and your bladder explodes!

I'm not saying I try to hold it. That would be a little extreme. I'm just saying when I need to hold it, I can. A lot longer than a normal person I think.
