How much should I spend on park skis

I have the jeffrey 108s but to be honest they feel too big for the park imo, or I am just a bad skier

i have never ridden a park ski before, is there actually a big difference? I can railslide and 360, tail grab and mute, often I wish my skis were smaller and lighter.

first post btw

Welcome to NS,

Jeffereys are a little bit on the heavier side although not too much heavier than the ARVs for example so it feeling big could be understood, I havent ridden the Jefferys but I'm pretty sure they are the same as the Kartel was and those ripped in the park. Whats your price range? Are you looking for something strictly for park?

I ride the last year of the Kartel 108 which is pretty much what you have, and yes they are pretty big to toss around in the park. Once got to ride a pair of 96's and were defiantly more maneuverable for the discipline.

if youre starting out in the park yes it can be a big difference than an 90 underfoot ski. Its still possible to learn on em regardless

Those are great skis and good in the park but they are cumbersome and a 108 is a fat park ski and the Jeff’s were not designed for park, more of a 50/50 park and freeride or all mountain. If you’ve got room in your quiver for a park only ski it could def help you progress and have more fun. , and if your used to whippin those 108s a shorter more narrow and lighter ski is really gonna whip for you.

if you are looking to stick with on3p i would suggest magnus 90s for park great ski all around and if you are looking to branch out as far as brands go look for something with 90-100 underfoot as they are superior in park style skiing!

Ty for the replies, I really like ON3P but they are a bit on the pricey side, I don't need another pair since I can ride the Jeffrey's anywhere on the mountain.

Don't really want to spend more than $500 but a little over is fine.

I didn't read shit above me but it is 3:30 am. Anyway. i am a huge fan of saying you get what you pay for! The intergity of north american made skis is truely superior. From ON3P to J Skis&4front to Fatypus you cant go wrong!! Never rode vishnus but the roofbox review makes it sound like they will loose shape and become flat quickly. Regardless, i would focus on skis designed AND made by ski enthusiasts!

$300 or less OP. If you are buying new the goal is to put the whole set up together for under $500 including any costs like mounting. $300 for skis + $150 for bindings + $50 mounting. sometimes you can get 4frnts or other brands direct for that price and sometimes you can find them at the local shop for that price. you can pretty much always just buy from accross the border for a discount though and you can get free shipping from Canada. lots of park skis on sale in Canada right now

A lot of people learning park go for honey badgers becuase they are cheap light and flexy, but they break quite easily. Line twp arv 86/96, and chronics you can get pretty cheap rn too

Get comfortable on a narrower ski before riding wider models. Line honey badgers, armada arv86/96, or ON3P magnus92’s would be fine. I started out on an 83ish(?) underfoot K2 but now I ride 107/112 moments and wouldn’t see myself skiing anything less than 100 underfoot in the future

how wide u reckon meeks' skis r here

No one is saying it’s not possible, but Meeks is an experience park shredder and OP says he can do 360s. A lighter skinnier park ski will be great for him

and OP you don’t have to spend a ton either. Go find a deal on armada arv 86 and a pair of Tyrolia attack 13s and you’re set dude ?

108s are pretty wide for park. For jumping its ok, but rails become very difficult. Weight is also a factor at those widths. Its better to slim the underfoot to 88-95 for optimal performance.

i bought these puppies for 100$ from the used pile at the ski shop rentals. They are perfect for me. Just gotta switch the binding for a real pair of park bindings.

i’m getting edollos for 300 and bindings for 140 or 200, maybe talk to ur local shops i bet there trying to get rid of 2020 stock for the 2021s to come in soon. also with covid.

Check out some used pairs in the buy/sell/trade section of this site. Jeffrey 108s can be sick in the park if you know what youre doing, but if youre trying to figure out the basics youll probably want a smaller ski that you can whip around a bit easier

Dont listen to the haters the kartel/jeffrey 108s are perfect for the park if you get the right length. It just comes down to the skier. I use them over my park skis for everything and they let me treat the whole mountain like a park theyre rad
