What are some ways to determine how much canting to use for a boot and if you need canting. Cant go to a bootfitter cause there isnt one for a 1000 miles. I have Dalbello il Moro's T.I.D's

The way to set your canting is so that your knees, ankles, and hips align in a centered, athletic stance. I think it might be tricky to do it yourself correctly without any professional input.

i think this is what i saw the bootfitter do tthe other day

take your liners out of your boots first, i can't remember i think you do this next part with the footbed in. put your footbed in the boot then your foot (or just your foot). move heels to the back, flex forward roll around in the boots then stop in an athletic stance, and look at where your shin part of your leg is relative to the boot. after that i have no fucking idea how or which is which on those canting things. don't quote me on that but i think thats what the boot fitter did

World cup sports in girdwood.

I live here and they are most definitely boot fitters.

Unless you're in juno-then you're S.O.L.

This is how to quickly see if you need to align the cuff of your boots: this process if for a neutral cuff alignment.

1. remove shell from liner

2. place footbed in shell

3. stand in shell, on top of footbed.

4. look to see if you have equal space on the inside of the cuff and outside of cuff (that your leg is directly in the center of cuff).

5. adjust the cuff alignment bolts so that you achieve this equal space between your leg and cuff.

it does depend on your boot/cuff mechanism but if you have dual dismantlable cuff alignment hardware it will be the easiest way to do this.

its not called canting either, its cuff alignment, like nerdkid said.

canting is the planing of your boot sole
