How measure my head to know what size of new era to get?

the measurements are the diameter of the hat. but i have no clue how to measure that.

What I did was I went to dicks and tried on a mets new era and found out my size then ordered the new era hat I wanted online in that size.

buying new eras online is a bad idea. all of them fit differently. i have a 7 3/4 that is smaller than a 7 5/8 i have.

very true. i have a 7 3/8 that is bigger than my 7 1/2. so be careful with choosing sizes

True to an extent. All my hats are 7 3/8 and they all fit slightly differently, but they all fit on my head.

Look up the new era sizing chart which will translate the circumference of your head to a hat size (i.e. 71/2). However matching the circumference of your head with the exact same size diameter hat will probably be too tight, probably go a size bigger. Like everyone said, they all fit kind of different, I have 2 different sizes that fit pretty much the same.
