How many members does NS have?

Actually, the count as of right now is 178567

We only update the media kit every so often, so getting it form the splash page when you're not logged in is the absolute most recent count.

15 Page ethnography research page on ski culture, if you ask me, New Schoolers plays a big role in the culture of free skiing.

Quoting I_Am_Mod$ from Nov 25 2011 1:35:28: if you think of it, that's actually quite a crazy number :) we're huge ! "the two should fuse and become one, yielding the mighty...... CLAPBORTIONATOR" -Anathema

Wow, NS is ways bigger than I thought. And their dedication to the world of skiing is uncontested. It looks like it will be the 1st page I open every day for a lot of years more. Keep on it guys.

can anyone explain this to me? or point me to material? curious about what people think/why this is happening

since skiing is cyclical/seasonal, that'd be my theory as to why it goes up and down in terms of search volume. Would like Bishop to weigh in though

Yea, but why did it peak in 2011 and has been steadily declining since?

That's when forums were at the peak and NS as a forum was very popular. I would guess more people were searching "newschoolers" to access the site and log in. Now that everyone has smart phones, way less people do that and usually access NS via a link on fb or instagram.
