How many days do you use your pow skis?

I started to ride my bentchetlers as my everyday ski last year. I felt more comfortable riding park with them compared to my blends.

except alot of people do. I ride sir francis bacon's everyday, i rode them in keystone park all season last year. fat skis are just different, but they DO rip on groomers and they're really fun in the park. 50-50s and surface swaps for daysss.

Okay i see what your saying but the sfb's are what 106 mm underfoot? Those arent really a true powder ski but more of an all mountain freeride ski in my opinion. Usually when talking about a true powder ski one would assume it is a least 110-115 mm underfoot and up. So yeah thats what those skis are made for but not specifically powder, so think about cruising down groomers on a 120-130 purely powder ski not that fun anymore is it?

108 at the waist, 140 at the tip and 136 in the tail. I know kids who ski wider skis in the park, ive got a friend who rides rmu professors which are i believe 120 underfoot.

Okay but just saying your points are very closed minded like yeah some kids find it fun to rip around the mountain and/or park with pow skis but the majority dont so just because you have one example doesnt mean your point is completely valid. Not saying that your wrong about your sfb's but line describes them all mountain skis so yeah just because the tip and tail mm is like a powder ski the sidecut is different as well as the flex patterns. Not saying that my powder skis arent fun to rip around the mountain and park sometimes they arent daily drivers for most people so you kind of just need to accept that.

i understand it's not for everyone, but it's very possible and more people do it than you think

Okay but most people who actually ski park on a consistent basis prefer to have a pow ski and a park ski just saying.

If you mean skis that are intended by the manufacturer to be pow skis, almost every day. My actual pow skis are 131mm and I got them near the end of last season, I'll be on them on some of the big pow days this season but not much else. My daily drivers are 117mm ('pow skis' by most people's standards, not by mine) and I ski them pretty much every day, I'll likely get 100+ days on them this season.

Exactly my point most specific pow skis arent daily drivers for most people just saying

tahoe will never see decent pow again so my shreditors are mint in the garage

You're right, it will literally never snow again.

I keep forgetting that 800" season 3 years ago.

I'm glad you're an expert climatologist and know the weather patterns.

i ski either 112 or 124 underfoot every day

put them go uphill binders on all my skis

cause there is almost always powder somewhere

last 3 seasons mother nature's been slackin in the big dump days

so the 138's and 142's have been a bit lonely

although i have been finding those big ole rev/rev make upside down storms and various wind and zipper crusts more enjoyable

Used my petitors loads last season and only really used my park skis at the end of the season, when the pow was gone. However, my new investment in a pair ok Kartel 98's could mean the pow skis only come out on the big days.

Back home i never skied any condition that my k2 domains couldnt handle. I moved out west yhis year and got myself son on3p jeffreys so hopefully i get to use them alot this season.

Because you live in steamboat and 8" constitutes a pow day and you don't need a fat ski...........

Really unless you live somewhere it snows more than 400" you can ski a 100-105 mm ski every day including "pow" days.

Yea but why would you? No reason to buy anything less then 125 underfoot.

I am up in the air about buying a pair of K2 Hellbents this year. We don't get much "pow" in WI, but I get up to the UP here and there and our to CO a couple times a year. I have read a few reviews that say the Hellbent skis are pretty good on the groomers too. Can anyone confirm this. I have 4FRNT clicks now and they are awesome, but deciding if adding the K2's to a arsenal would be worth the money if I can only rock them in the steep and deep.

Don't buy the hellbents for that type of ski. They are floppy and wide. You can find much better pow skis for the Midwest.

Look at the Atomic Bent Chetlers, Moment Bibby Pros, Line Opus, k2 shreditor 112, faction 3.0, and many more skis will do better in your situation than hellbents.
