How Long Have You Been Skiing?

I searched this and didn't find anything.

I'm interested in how long you've been skiing and what year you started skiing park if you did. Also what year did you progress the most? What was your worst/scariest thing you had to overcome? Did you ski with people or mostly alone?

First year for me I started late summer pre winter and started riding park the same time. I focused a ton on my form and how to ski a real run then went to the park, I boarded for 4 years so i feel that I have a learning curve. But the biggest thing I had to overcome was speed. I always went slow into rails just remember speed is your friend! Atleast on rails. No claim but I've got a decent jib game I can hit kinks and urban on etc. Just learned front swaps yesterday. J ride with whoever is there that day dont be afraid to ask a skier to teach you they're usually nice! But remember confidence is your key

I started when I was 8 and didn't start actually shredding in the park til last year that's when I started hitting any rail I laid my eyes upon.

This is my second year

I rarely ski park

Probably because I suck

Scariest thing? Probably dropping a 20 foot cliff earlier this month, natural features are scary.

I ski alone because I have no friends.

My mom took me to the mountain every week when I was 3 years old. I'm 17 now and I'm one hell of a Big Mountain/Tree skier. Park is a whole different story. I ski mostly alone, so I don't have much motivation to progress.

This was me for 10 years. I still have the most fun when I ski alone.

Man, I can relate to this...but I have been skiing for 14 years. I don't like park, but I go all out on the natural stuff.

No friends on a pow day, and no friends on a normal day.

started when I was 3 and skied all the time because my parents were ski patrollers when they met - so I kinda grew up around a lot of ski bums who taught me how to shred. Im still a learner when it comes to park since I started last year. Scariest moment was when I was 8 and got caught in a tree well and my mom had to pull me out. Now I really only ski with my sister because all my friends are lame and don't ski.

Skiing: 26 years

Park: 15 years although really haven't in the past 4...more freeride now looking for cool lines off the hill

messed arous with my friends for 8 years and just grew some huevos this season and started progressing in the park.

I started probably about 4-5 years ago for park, and 12 years for skiing as a sport. Last year was the year I progressed most for sure. Went from being able to do 540s and slide rails strait to tossing rodeos, cork 7s, an occasional cork 9. And learning rail tricks lie front and back 2 off front 4 off, and kfed. Last year was super sick, and it was all due to shredding with a new crew at a better park that pushed me.

Started at age 2, I'm 18 now. I started skiing park when I was 14. Scariest thing I overcame was probably when I was 15 and gaining the balls to not be afraid of any of the features in the park, not afraid to do really anything anywhere on the hill now. I usually ski with a few buds, but sometimes I ski by myself

started skiing around age 4, started hitting park stuff around age 10. Started competing in slope at 14, rail jam at 15. Scariest thing I've ever done was trying/almost landing a kanga last year. I usually ski with my buddies but skiing alone is sometimes much better

Started at 5. 22 now. So 17 years for Me. Started skiing park in 08, still not that great but I have a lot of fun with it.

Started skiing at 2, and started skiing park at about 12 or 13. I progressed the most when I was 16, I started hitting rails and could grease them, started throwing inverts in the park and pushed myself in the backcountry. Overcoming rails sucked, constantly slamming ribs and hips and lipping away from rails was brutal, but totally worth it. I ski mostly with people, its more fun with friends and family, I honestly have most fun when I am with my family

This other then only 13 years in the park. But I am actually doing more park then anything else now unless it ever snows.

I started skiing when I was in 6th grade but didnt get really into it until sophomore year in highschool. im now a soph in college.

So about 5 years of 8+ plus days skiing (lived far away from local hill)

my 2nd year of park. I hate flipping since i always hurt my self and overall suck

Shiftys off small cliffs and riding pow... I am always away from tahoe's when it finally snows- every year.

ski usually with one or two snowboarders

as soon as i could walk my dad put me on skis. Super thankful he got me into skiing at such a young age.

started skiing when i was 4

started park this year

i usually go skiing with other people but by 2:00 its just me for the rest of the day

First year, came from snowboarding. Picked it up quick. I can ride switch decent, rails pretty confidently although im working on progressing more. I usually ride alone/with a friend or two. Still getting comfortable in the air on jumps.
