I am 14, i have been skiing since i was 2. i have mostly skied all over the mountain, and can do very basic stuff in the park. how long would it take for someone like me to be decent in the park? I live in Breck so I can ski a lot.

There is an infinite amount of variable that will change the answer to your question.

how long does it usually take though? could i be good in one year, or is it more like five years?

It depends... Are you willing to risk injury or are you gonna play it safe? If you do injure yourself bad enough then your season is over meaning it'll take longer than someone in your situation that didn't get hurt. Are you gonna be training of the hill? Do you have park rat friends that will teach you? Will your parents send you to Windells? What do you consider "good"? There's tones of stuff to factor in.

If your super serious about it, just send it and willing to risk injury you'll get better faster obviously. But who cares, just do what skiing's all about and have fun. In this case in the park with your buddies.

If you got a hot sister ill coach ya bud haha

OP honestly there isnt a set number or time frame some things come natural to people other things you really have to work at it. Just go an have fun been having fun on shred sticks since i was three an still doing it now still getting better every year...

Like anything else in life, the more work you put in the faster you get better.

Honestly though - the most important thing is that you're having a good time. If competition floats your boat, then get coaching and all that business. If you could take it or leave it, then just go to the hill every day you possibly can and ski bell to bell.

Remember - there's far more to skiing than just slopestyle. Hit street rails, film with your homies, work on your style, ski the trees and butter through pow. Use the mountain as a gigantic playground, and try tricks everywhere.

Enjoyment is #1 though. Don't worry about being the best in the world, just focus on having a great ass time.

I think the hardest thing is commitment don't go hit a rail and then try to get off right away your just slip out and fall and crack your head open and break every bone in your body then you'll never want too ski again good luck bud

i got good by watching a shit ton of skiing videos on youtube and then just sending what they were doing it. pretty soon youll be making up your own moves bro stick with it and have fun
