I am planing a trip to Japan, but I am going alone so I am concerned about skiing backcountry... I will bring my backcountry gear but i am expecting to spend most of my time in bounds. Is the lift access skiing still legit? If i go all the way to japan and dont get fresh turns I will be bummed...

If you have been there please help...

Depends when and where ya go obviously but I've seen real sick inbounds stuff. There was one cliff in particular (and I can't remember the resort) when I was in karuzawa that was along side a steep groomer and was literally like 60'. I found all kindsa stuff to play on in the trees inbounds though and with the right amount of fresh you can literally pull over on the side of the highway and hike some sick stuff right on the side of the road. Have fun.

Depends on the typical avy dangers and most of the BC we got into was just cool shit we saw from the road. As far as resort names, I really don't remember em all. It was a while back and maybe if they were in English I'd remember em better. Haha. We hit everything in Nagano and karuzawa though resort wise. Alot of fun.
