I was thinking of going up to Lake Louise this weekend because they have been getting a bit of snow as of lately. I was wondering if anybody has been up recently and could give a half decent read out on how things are progressing as in snow conditions and skiable terrain.

went there on sunday, pretty bare.

all the way up top of the world it's rocky as hell.

i didnt go up the platter though and near the second lodge their making snow.

i just mainly skied groomers

ive been working there the past two weekends working the world cup

so i got some free skiing in

the bottom is oh so boring

top of the world is scarce

summit platter backside is good(ie. brownshirt and north cornice) are really good, but watch out for the bombholes, they hurt

dont go past paradise chair, its the cat track till ptarmigan chair

but, that recent dump gave more snow

so

have fun

I went up today the backside was pretty much covered

from top of the world ER runs are closed but will be open with a little more snow

paradise bowl was covered with fresh snow and will be open in a few days the patrol said

still rocky on the front side from top of the world

also the little rail park is open got about 5 boxes and and urban rail

Welli t sounds like they will need some more snow before i bother going up.

Hopefully it continues to snow through the week.

heard it was raining there last night. not sure if fully true or not. Who skis louise??? Shine just got pumped. Gonna be sick.

actually avi conditions are rated serious right now and with this 70 cm of new snow it ads a serious factor of risk to avi conditions, so you cant say the snow is super stable right now. Many slopes are suffering from hair trigger type avi's and the are occuring frequently.

just so you know...

I went up to Louise on Saturday and it was actually really quite good, They will be needing some more snow in the near future, because there are a number of rocky areas, but it is looking really good for this time of year. The backside is really good, boot top powder to be had.

I was at louise saturday and sunday pretty sick. they opened the bottom of whitehorn 1 and it was sick the rodneys jump is fun and leapfrog is sick

I was there on saturday as well and the back is pretty decent. Even the most accessible areas were rel;ativly fairly unskied.

yeah, i was at Sunshine on saturday and Louise on Sunday. Louise was definitely better. Even though saturday was so clear at Sunshine, there were so many obstacles in the pow off the runs. it was so sketch. Definitely got a few base scratches there.

Louise on the other hand was super fun. Skied the backside all day and the snow was usually really good.
