How important is your snowboarding/skiing gear?

I wanna hear how important everyone's gear is. Whether it's their boards or skis, coats, pants, hats, gloves, whatever. And also, what you're favorite article of clothing that you wear when hitting the slopes?
 
Well skis are pretty important. Bindings because without them you couldn't attach boots. Boots because without them you couldn't attach your feet.

And everything else is completely pointless.
 
I try to use gear for as long as I can. Skis can last me a good amount of time, same with boots if I don't out grow them or pack them out too much. So far I've been skiing the same boots for 3 years, same skis for 2 years.

Pants and jackets. Spend money and they will last if you get quality shit.
 
lets just say that if i were to wake up in the middle of the night and my house was on fire, i would NOT leave the house without making sure my skis were safe. all other possessions can go up in flames and I wouldn't be too bothered, but my skis... can't allow that to happen.
 
I sleep with my skis in my bed in case someone burns down my house and i only have enough time to grab one thing
 
shouldn't it be 'how important is your skiing/snowboarding gear' ya'know since this is a skiing website and all...

my most important piece of equipment is my boots. without them I wouldn't be able to ski comfortably. And if I don't have skis I can still slide downhill in them.

Outwear is important in that it needs to keep me dry and sheltered from the wind. It doesn't have to be warm because I can just layer up and looking rad is a secondary function for me
 
My skis and boots live in my bedroom, I don't trust the garage.
In the event of a fire/big earthquake, I would strap them to my backpack, put my computer in the pack, and ride away on my bike with a pump and a patch kit.
In the summer, I put on my boots and butter around my room.

so... I guess I'd say my skis gear is pretty important to me.
 
love ma gaggles, new coats and pants are pretty up there too, skis im not too worried if they burn, boots are important thats aboot it eh.
 
Thats true. You don't really need tall t's, but without them, whats the point?

Tall t's fit me sort of normal though and everything else just fits really short and wide, so it has to be like 3xlt before you can tell its a massive shirt.
 
the most important thing to me is getting something that no one or VERY FEW people have. For example getting a specific brand and colored styled jacket that no one else has is awesome. I research to see what people are talkin about on here and then do my best NOT to get that specific brand. It can be very challenging, but its a lot of fun for preseason because it keeps me thinking about the winter and I am pumped when I find the correct item.
 
my most important piece of equipment is my boots. if the boots don't fit properly and are uncomfy or cold, that will fuck me up every single day more than anything else could. it's just a major bitch to be wearing uncomfy boots. my second most important piece is my skis. they gotta get the job done the way i tell them to get the job done. brand is only a concern as far as quality goes, i'll support any brand that makes a good quality product that i can enjoy. then gloves, they gotta be toasty warm on -30 Celsius days, I can't be out there with freezing hands or i'll have to keep takin breaks to warm them up, and more breaks = less skiing.

then there's the outerwear, it has to be warm enough to keep me warm when it's freezing (i wear layers most days), but cool enough that i won't burn up on warm days (when i don't wear layers). as far as brand and such go with outerwear, i don't give a fuck, as long as it's within my budget and it does the job. looks are the least important thing about my outerwear, if i can look good skiing in shitty clothes then my skiing is good, but if i look bad skiing in dope clothes, then it's just fucked.

yeah i'm kinda calculated when it comes to my skiing gear, i don't just pick the cool stuff.
 
i love to look good when i ski and its mainly a bonus to skiing well
i rate my skis as most important cos they are the things you use the most haahaha
 
and then you would hunt down the person who stole them and kill them and take your skis back, right?
 
What do you expect people to say here? "I don't really give a fuck about my gear, yeah, if it gets stolen or broken, I just buy buy new stuff" etc, etc?

Maybe it's not the best thread (most of the threads people post aren't that great either), but I'm just curious as to what people people find to be most important to them. Just getting some feedback from people, that's all, nothin you need to hate on.
 
skiing is just a jiant fasion show you have to dress to impress! i had a dream that i was at mammoth but i had no tall t so i couldnt ski
