How do you ride with out poles?

You kids ride with poles that are a foot long allreay in the park and do fucking shit.

You dont need poles in the park becuse park is bull shit, and poles are one extra thing to bring around hitting rails and hiking.

However i dont see how people can ski trees, or moguls with out poles becuse in both planting your poles helps a shit ton.

If your going to ride with out poles use the fact that you dont have things straped to you hand by useing your hand to do shit. Same goes with poles, if you have poles USE THEM dont just hold them.

ha if i saw somebody pole planting in the park like up to jumps and rails and shit i would laugh so hard. that just proves that you really dont need poles at all in the park cause would never need to pole plant in the park or groomers, so people just hold them for no reason.

i broke my poles one day so i skied no poles for the rest of the day. and sliding rails for me was easier with no poles. i guess i tried using them for balance. anywho, balancing was easier but now i have new poles and my rail sliding is better because i skied with no poles one day. i suggest trying it.

ha yeah he does that little pole plant thing.  but seriously thats pretty worthless, he would definatly do fine without it, its probably more of a habbit than anything, and its the only thing i dont like about his skiing, cause it looks fugly as hell. every other action sport gets along fine without poles, so why do we even have them.  shit we get around easier than snowboarders even without poles.  anyway ive only seen him and one other person do that, and other than that there is absolutely no other use for poles in the park that i can think of.  they are just dangling sticks that have no use,  the only thing we do with them is try to keep them out of the way.  every one of my friends that doesnt ski always makes fun of skiing because we have stupid poles that dont do anything.

honestly it makes much more sense to go without poles than to go with them.

90% of this thread should: step 1 go up to your kitchen (ask your parents for assitance, this could turn out to be quite a dangerous task for some) step 2 grab something relatively pointy and place in anus step 3 repeat step 2

The only thing I have noticed is that I have to consciously drive my hands up and forward, especially on steep terrain or on landings. This is to counteract that fact that when your hands drop, you end up in the backseat, and because poles prop your hands up, it has to a conscious thing when the poles are gone.

But otherwise, just drop the poles and go. You might not like it, you might have a lot of fun, but you can't knock it 'til you've tried it.

Have fun.

Bamboo should help for sure. The astronomical weight savings will help the transfer from a gaper with poles, to a steezy park rat!

You may want to cut off your pole straps, so before every feature you hit, chuck your poles to the side.  THis should open you up as well, which helps for spread eagles.

If you enjoy no poles, try no pants.  It helps remove wind resistance, thus helping your straight airs, as well as corked spins.

Hey broseph,

if you actually want advice and this wasn't a joke then this is what I got for ya...

You won't lose much balance at all...all you have to do is be super conscious of the arm flailing.

I usually fiddle with the crotch of my snowpants cause they are so ghetto, it allows you to stay in steeze mode when going forward. Switch, just keep em by your side.

as far as spinning off jumps, you shouldn't spin with your arms anyway. Note how Pollard and those cats carve off of jumps like only the good snowboarders do...that's your new goal. It sets your rotation all sweet and shit...esp corks.

now go handplant things. It's so tight.

Cheers & Beers

i stil prefer poles because i feel more comfortable on rails and jumps with poles. but wen im not using poles, i ususaly find myself needing to make a fist. ill either take my mittens off, strap them around my wrists, and hold onto those, or just extned my sleeves on my jacket and keep my hands inside the sleeve andmake a fist

I just started skiing with out poles (just sort of messing around...) and its sooo dope. Drop them off on a ski rack and take a couple runs. I'll bet you find its very easy, and mad fun.

this kids funny... i hope he was kiddin tho.... if u seriously want to ride with no poles just leave them and stop being such a little pussy... if u fall who cares
