How do you make a solid pow jump?

ok so i got a bunch of fresh pow and i want to make a decent sized jump.i heard water and salt but i dont know. any ideas?
 
dig out blocks if the pow is compacted a lot, build it out of them, stomp it all down with skis on to compact it, then salt and water, leave till it firms up on the takeoff, then tear it up. building the day before u wanna hit it, or at least building the main bit of it also helps it freeze and compact overnight. Water and salt on the lip and the kicker face itself. If u end up having to put a fair bit of water down on the kicker face to get it solid throw a thin layer of light snow over the top of the water you put down as soon as u have put the water on, to stop ur takeoff turning to ice - generally u dont have to do it, but we have had to do it like twice with little kickers we shaped when the snow we had was super grainy and wouldnt rly bond too well.
 
Salt and boot packing if you want to hit it the same day you build. Shovel some snows, sprinkle some salt and then boot stomp it. Repeat this process with more layers until you get to the jump to the right size. Spend some extra time boot stomping the tranny too, so you don't get huge troughs. Shape the jump with a shovel and then side step it a bunch, sprinkle more salt and side slip. Repeat this a few times and you should be good to go. If you have done a good job of boot packing, the jump will be solid. For really soft dry snow, go through the same process but make your pile of snow larger than the jump will actually be. Boot pack the crap out of the pile and then carve your jump out of it.

Boot packing is the key. There is nothing worse than having to start over because half of your booter slid off after your first jump.
