How do you look at forecasts?

When looking at the next system that's going to bee moving through how do you guys find your information? I've tried using the national weather service but it's quite easy to get lost in their site or just not know what your looking at. Is their any sites that you always use? Links please?

If it helps I'm in the northeast so any links related to here would be much appreciated. Also I'm looking for a at least 3 day outlook.

Depends where. If Utah, I've heard the powder buoy is awesome. In general though, I use a combination of sites. OnTheSnow app has weather and is usually pretty good for far out predictions, however it changes quite often in the days before a storm hits. It's never let me down though, unlike most weather reports. They also have a weather press release through the app called "snow before you go" that lists the best places to ski nationwide whenever a storm is about to hit. Weatherbug seems more reliable than weather.com, however on weather.com you can put resort names in as the locations. Look at the radar for massive systems. Lastly, sometimes resorts have weathermen who post on their resort websites (e.g. Jay Peak).

Other things that are guaranteed to work: wear pajamas inside out, do a snow dance, pray to the snow gods, optimism

I loved it actually....thought it was hillarious....it was based off of some comments on NS a while back too.

OP

Opensnow till I die. Bryan is by far the most accurate for tahoe, and all of their forcasters go into great detail.

I suppose its all about taste I guess. Midgets just creep me out when they are older cause they get all buff and I cant punch em if they attack. Imean if i were to kick them, they are way to thick/buff to screw off after 1 shot. they would probably grab my leg and break it

You can also check out all the model runs like the Euro and GFS at tropicaltidbits.com in the forecast model section. There are no huge storms forecasted in the near future for the Northeastern part of the USA, but the NAO is going to remain negative (aka a blocling pattern) for the next few weeks which bodes well for snow making unlike the past few years.
