How do u get the handles off of poles

sorry my bad it fucked up

but ya sooo i have the line pin and i was wondering how to get the handles off so i can cut them down?

I've never tried this, but it sounds like it would dent the pole.

They used an adhesive that has properties of becoming weak in heat, strong in cold (because thats what you're using them in, cold weather)

So just get some heat in there with mom's blow dryer, and it comes right off.

Watch the tech talk though, great info in there and they do it right

When we have to do it in the shop for whatever reason we stick the grip in boiling water for a few mins, twist off with some force, then cut the pole down with a pipe cutter. Job done.

cant go wrong with the hot water one, but i think i remember when i was working at the shop im at during the season that the line poles miiiiight have a couple little screws you have to unscrew on the handle before doing this. not super sure, cant remember.

all you hve to do do is run it under some hot water and pull it offfthen when you cut them, you can roll some tape around the top so they stay on. because poles narrow as they go down

there is no adhesive on any grips. You just pull, or if it is still to hard heat them up so the rubber/plastic grip expands a little and then pull. There is no need to wrap tape to put them back on, they won't go anywhere. I put a little alcohol in the grip so it slips back on really easy, then the alcohol dries out in about 30 seconds and the grip is unmovable again.

Oh, I didn't know that! The alcohol sounds like a legit idea though. I'm going to re-watch the tech-talk, I need a refresher course
