Pro skiers are a resourceful bunch and figure out a way to make it work. I'd agree with Logan and for the most part you might get a retainer and travel budget, but everythign is basically paid for out of athletes own pocket and then if there is travel budget in the contract, you submit for reimbursement. I will say shooting catalogs tends to be the exception and you get fairly wined and dined (by ski industry standards). Either way you look it at, its a pretty good gig for at least a few years.
