How do I get off rails?

Ya boy finally sent it on some rails, but I haven’t landed one yet. I can get on and ride them fine, but I can’t exit them without fucking up. I can land tiny ones where I can make it to the end, but when I have to bail early on an longer rail I always end up eating shit. This eating of the shit usually entails me straddling the rail and getting a shot to the balls, or tilting off the side and falling over. Is it recommended to pop off the rail or just sort of lean off? Thanks.

Just ride it to the end and slide right off, don’t try n jump.

I can’t make it to the end yet. Should I work on my balance on shorter ones first?

99% of the time it’s because you aren’t going as fast as you should

You'll kinda gradually learn to know when you're gonna fall off early and then you can land in a hockey stop or just jump off it to the side if you see you won't make it. Also speed is your friend

If you're already getting to the end on the smaller ones and coming off them fine then just go for a bit more speed and you'll be golden, don't worry about popping off.

It’s harder to stay on when you’re going slow. Go faster, and don’t look down at your feet when your on the rail.

With more speed & practice you’ll be making it to the end, if you’re worried about more speed it’s purely mental, trust yourself you got this ??

you just hop off to the side, whichever side you're falling to anyway

if you're ending up straddling the rail often then that points to a fundamental you need to work on (that's good news!): your skis are a set, keep your feet doing the same thing, parallel to each other, wide stance, flex your core, COMMIT to a full 90* turn on the rail. don't let the legs do separate things. lean forward. look at the end of the rail. lean forward. lean forward. lean forward.

if you're falling to one side try to fix it but don't over-commit to the fix. if you're falling accept it and keep those feet parallel and hop off to whatever side is comfy in the moment

post a video for the best feedback! it's WAY easier to help if we can see for ourselves what you're doing "wrong"

Make sure your sideways on the rail with your shoulders sideways and eyes at the end.

It sounds you you turn your shoulders forward and “pedal” the rail back to fwd too soon, resulting in the sacking. Just make sure you’re really on sideways then you can balance properly
