How do I get my crowbar strap off the outriggers?

I'm tryin to pull my bars apart to dye them, but how do I get the strap off the outriggers. Theres two tabs on the back sides of the riggers where the strap meets them and I've been prying and squeezing them for a while with no luck.

if you're having no luck pushing the inside tab just take a knife and stick it in the slot on the front of the riggers and pry them out, not great but if you do it right it's finethen pull the strap out about an inch, turn it, and put one end through the wide opening in the rigger and pull it out at a 90 degree angle
