Like how do people who don't live in America veiw us as a whole. And I mean in general, not what random terrorist groups think.

they seem to think that americas stupid because miss teen south carolina is a moron. i mean it was a beauty pagent not a geography bee

they hate us

whenever i go to england, i pretend im from canada

whenever i go to mainland europe, i pretend im english...

Fat

Stupid

Ignorant (that's a popular one)

But the people that aren't stupid themselves know that we didn't all vote for Bush haha.

1 of my friend's family had a foreign exchange student from germany live with them, and he seriously thought that americans go to mcdonalds every day, every meal

they actually them this in the schools, cuz they dont want th impressionable germans ending up like those stupid, fat americans

i lol'ed

its stupid how they think were the idiodts when we are the ones that provide them with good music, movies, and television shows.

When foreigners think of American they think of Bush our stupid redneck president and how he started a useless war for some personal reason. They also think of fat people and how were snotty.

but at the same time, dont we have stereotypes for all the foreigners themselves? americans give themselves way too much

middle east- work at 7-11 or bomb the world

hispanic- lowriding farmers with moustaches

canadians- love hockey

etc etc. you get my drift.

people can have their opinions but as long as you dont fall into accords with it, who the heck cares

as a whole? i can see a lot of hate generated towards USA.

but i mean, for them to stereotype each american into the same category would make them just as ignorant as what they beleive americans to be.

and ps, how come americans can get away with calling themselves americans? i mean, technicly wouldnt canadians be americans too? since we are from north america.

A lot of Europeans think we are overweight, eat at Micky Ds alot, don't know/care about the rest of the world, and all drive huge SUVS. Which for a lot of the country is unfortunatley true

i dont think that foreigners need to judge americans based on what they see on tv. like miss teen south carolina, she was in a fucking beauty pagent not a geography bee, if she looked hot she did her job. and were not all fat. im healthy and i eat right except for excessive amounts of caffiene. id like to go to the scandanavian countries though. i want to see if they really live better than us. like since i was 8 i wanted to go to finland and now im obsessed with sweden and norway.

ya i know there are some good canadian bands and actors and the trailer park boys is a great show, but (im pulling this out of my ass) 70-80 % of internationally known movies, actors, bands, and artists are probably from the u.s.

i've asked other people, and it's not as bad as you would think. most people don't like some of the things we've done (who could blame them), but are mostly indifferent. my friend from japan says they all like us over there, and that includes some other east asian countries. my friend from switzerland says they don't hate us, same with my friends from columbia and nicaragua. i think it's mostly the french, they haven't liked us much for awhile. my humanities teacher was talking about going there back during the vietnam war and getting spit on by the french. lame.

From this thread I would say, poorly educated, ignorant, obese and selfish, unable to accept their consequences, and pussys if they are so scared that they have to wear Canadian flags to get some respect.

The only way I can put it is follower. Nobody thinks, if a political or mostly a religious leader speaks, everybody agrees without thinking. Majority is always right is another philosophy.

But all my trips to the US (NYC and Duluth) went great, I met some of the coolest people. Although they had no idea were Quebec is, they treated me like friends.

hahahah

"if you think that's weird, you should see how we pee" *holds up finger*

not exactly the same scenario but it reminded me of it.

im from britain, and i think that america sounds like a really cool country to live in, its so diverse, theres everything,i just dont like george bush, he seems stupid..

My friend is from Coventry, he told me that many brits just think of america as their creation, and we are just their monsters running amuck haha.

In some ways, its true... if you look at U.S. history in a blind sense...

:(

Stereotypes have to come from somewhere, so yeah, when I think of America I think of geeks, fat asses and hillbillies. But I know not everyone's like that.

I think you guys have crappy food, more fake people and real weather.

I also think that American schools are all built from some crappy generic design.

You celebrate random holidays and think about sport way too much.

But then you also have Oreos, real mountains and forests, waste disposal (my god we need to get it here), huge snowfalls, places where its actually sunny, better skiers/boarders (should I say that?), more than two decent Universities....

As for Canada - these days if someone says Canada I think of skiing. Haven't a clue what else you have up there....

haha we have the best food because its so diverse (if you live in certain areas) you can eat food from any differnet culture any night of the week. We do care too much about american football, but thats pretty much the same in europe just with soccer.

I'm leaving on monday to go to south america for 2.5 months, so ill get back to you on what bolivians think of americans
