How did you get into skiing?

Started skiing 14 years ago, learned on straight skis. Thought parabolic was the coolest shit ever when I finally got a pair. Got a pair of 1080's in 2001 and been shredding since.

I used to sit around at home and watch old ski videos my dad made of him and his brother and his friends skiing. Then I progressed to Warren Miller films. At that point I still didn't have downhill skis but I had cross-country ones and would put those on in the lawn any time there was frost on the ground. Probably around 3 or 4. Did some program at whistler when I was 4, then I guess I took a break and started up again when I was 9. Skied for a couple years recreationally, got influenced by the whole snowboarding thing and did that for about 2 years, then saw Focused, got some public enemies, and have been obsessed with skiing ever since.

3 yrs old, dad didn't want to pay for lift tickets so he carried me up the beginner slopes and put me on a rope to go down....

my dad took me up whistler in gr 2 and stuck me in lessons for a day. a kid skied into me about a minute after i had put the skis on and i fell over and broke my arm (yup, injured before i even made it 1m). had to cancel my birthday party the next week because it was at a pool and i couldn't get the cast wet.for some reason i wanted to try again the next year so i went for 1 day of lessons and then learned the rest from my dad.

Uh just Justen and Serenity. MJ's grandchildren. I was on her bus. Also remember elinor bushfield was my groups instructor.

Started skiing when I was two. Started skiing because I was at the hill and my older sister was skiing with my dad and I cried so badly that my parents just gave up and pushed me down the hill with all her gear on :)

Last summer I was looking on newschoolers, didn't really know anything about skiing at the time. I saw Kieran's stereo edit

Kieran McVeigh stereo ski contest edit from Kieran McVeigh on Vimeo.

so I decided to build a rail and I've loved skiing since. Thanks dogg

I went a few times a year until I was four but in sixth grade I got onto a race devo team (basically just lessons) and I was sold. My first skis were these little yellow race Atomics. I still have them in my garage. The race team shut down the next year. Every year I was more and more stoked for skiing. I also focused more on pow. In tenth grade, Hunting Yeti changed my life, I worked all summer and bought EP's. These days I'm great. I shred pow as often as possible and this year, since I'm not going to college until next year, I'm going to ski every day possible. I have had the best times of my life skiing.

Super Epic Facepalm of Extreme Failure.
Should read, I went a few times a year from the age of four until sixth grade.

Started when I was 2 due to my parents having been skiing since they were young adults and building a holiday house near my home resort.

Moving to Europe at a very young age fast tracked my skiing learning the Austrian style and resorts there becoming like a second home.

Became interested in freeskiing in the early 2000's through Australian ski mags, although was far more into racing at that time and all of high school along with steeps, pow, ski touring etc...

Didn't actually start freeskiing until 06 and have improved heaps (as it is the skiing I do most now) becoming a decent jibber inspired by ski movies and edits here on NS!

pic from the early days, so styley hehe http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-ash1/v188/36/63/820900292/n820900292_2587105_401.jpg
