How core are you?

We need to come to some agreement here. Core exists.. it does. Companies like Armada are a core company, even though Elan makes their skis overseas. Why?

Well, they are made by skiers for skiers and are a pioneer(we'll see in 20 years) of the freestyle skiing scene. Is Salomon a core company? Maybe not by the definition of the above, but they are skiers nonetheless who recently merged from Adidas I believe to another smaller but sitll booming company? I consider all twin tip making companies besides Fischer and maybe a few others core, because they are giving our tiny sport a chance to improve. Agree/Disagree? We need not argue over a company being core or not, because each comapny Line, 4frnt, Salomon, Dynastar, K2, Volkl, and the numerous others have given a lot back to the sport.

Who cares? Seriously, all of this "DUDE BUY THIS ITS CORE!!!" or "DUDE THAT COMPANY IS MORE CORE THAN THAT ONE" is fucking stupid. I could seriously care less if a company was "Core" or not.

Sorry... Armada skis are produced by Elan which is sick.. Salomon once was owned by an Adidas branch I believe, and now they have changed companies to a European company, I forget the name..

Ski companys that sponsor ski events, movies and stuff like that, are supporting the twintip industry no matter how big they are..and can be called a core company in my eyes. so yes K2, salomon and other big companys like them that support the movement of newschool skiing is "core" I think.

I feel like Fischer is making twin tip skis only because it is recently growing a lot.. Salomon created the first 1080 years ago and have been a backbone of the industry. Dynastar as well, has been pushing the sport back with the three Phils and the TM.. Fishcer is new at twin tips.. But I would like to add that the whole "Core" mentality is overplayed.. I just wanted to explain what I think.

Question:

Mcdonald's has sponsored ski events.. is that not core? or is it? I personally don't give a shit, but people have strong opinions about it.

i agree with pussyfooter, you want a ski that you like and that skis well, who cares if someone else thinks there core or not

Core is so played out. Some people feel that they have to wear only siver or orage, and ride only armada, line, 4frnt, liberty, or ninthward to accepted as a newschool skier. I'd accept skiers much more if they're out they're throwing down, and having fun progressing, rather than trying to be "core". Now theres nothing wrong with representing the sport, but if you think you're more of a skier because of your Line skis and bindings, and your siver jacket... you're dead wrong.

Haha I think he was mocking the fact on how every new company says they are core without even knowing what it full out means.
