How come everyone was so thrilled with Tony's part in X?

I'm not saying he is not a good skier, cause he is. And those 3s and 5s and sws backcountry jumps where really stylish, but lately I've heard a lot of people telling me he's so incredible and his part was so great, so I watched it again and this is what I found:

He does more or less 19 Jumps, all plain rotation (some cork and some unnatural, true) but 14 out of 19 with a SAFETY GRAB, 3 or 4 are not very crossed MUTES, and one is NO-GRAB. I think one of the things an incredible top pro skier has to do is LOTS OF DIFFERENT GRABS and that is not shown there, just safetys everywhere. I read this thread where lots said that he would own the new K2 bc comp next year, so this is to argue that I don't think so.Just an opinion...

ok dont say safetys arent sick.....thats is all pollard does. And he does sooo many sick cork 3s and switch unnaty spins that look soo good. Uncrossed mutes are dope.

I was clear, he is a good skier and he has mad style, but I don't think just with safetys and ucrossed mutes he is gonna win that comp

He can probably do other stuff than cork 3s. He does sw unnatural cork 9 in his segment and can probably do better. And remember this is a rider judged competition. They care about style and unnatural and stuff. Anthonys got a good chance.

candide only does tails, pollard only does safetys, douglas only does mutes (haha), deschenaux only does true tails. whoop de doo. its the trick that matters. like hmmmmm say a ginormous BC swicth unatty 9. now shut your mouth. he stopms like a mofo, is steeze for sheezy, and can come up with some creative lines. he also skis back there like everyday

candide hardly ever does anything except tails, and he is the man. pollard only does safetys and criticals, and he is (in my opinion) the best out there. im sure all of them have the capacity to do whatever you want. if someone can do switch unnaty cork 9s, then they most likely could do it with whatever grab they wanted to.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

Wow wow wow wow wow, you guys have retaliated wayyyy too far. Its only the trick that matter? grabs do not!!!!??? you all are terrible people. A great skier once told me, its a grab that defines a trick!! personalizes it. GRABS SHOW CONTROL IN A TRICK, i can sw 7 just like tanner rainville and probably half of newschoolers, its rainville's blunt grab performed his own way which seperates "us" from "him"

for example: i hear a lot of these kids talk about "gorilla steeze" ...that has nothing to do with skiing, it really means they have good style when they go out at night dressed up like a gorilla!

dude i dont care how many saftey grabs he did but i would if his part wasnt so sick and progressive, sw rightside and other rightside trick in the BC is so dope and it shouldnt matter if he didnt do every grab possible but i agree that it does matter

 
i love his part becasue i think he has one of the best styles out there and a styley three saftey beats a sketch unnay 7 any day
