How can I hit bigger jumps

Hey guys, I have been skiing terrain park for about 6 years now and every year I am more and more scared to hit the bigger jobs. I have tried to just send them before but I always turn off right before or I don't fully commit, any tips?

Just take it incrementally if you can. I know the feeling when it seems like a whole different animal to rotate off a jump going 35 mph compared to 20 mph. But try to get used to intermediate size jumps if you can.

^What he said. Seriously. Train people in the know the speed and go 10-20ft behind them until you feel comfortable by yourself

It is not so much the speed, but it is more the feeling of going up so high I'm being scared to case or something, I know if you go faster it is way harder to case it but I cannot force myself to go faster.

Years ago i tried to have my snowboarding buddy follow right behind me off a 50 footer so he had the right speed and he didnt quite get the speed and had to go the the hospital. Casing can be just as bad as overshooting ask mike wilson in yearbook.

Although overshooting is what you have nightmares about....

follow someone into it

that or tell a bunch of people in the cafeteria/above the jump that you are going to air the fuck out of it. peer pressure can be your friend

I’ll have you know I cased on the first ramp in MEDIUM line. I hit huge xgames ramps like all the time. Definitely prefer the nice little ones they make next to the rail bars tho

Take it in small steps. There's really no need to go from a 20 to lets say a 50. Find jumps in the middle and work on them. 3 jump lines are always good. Maybe you're only comfortable with the first jump or first and second, but if you flow threw jump 3 will feel good.

Training people for speed helps. On dialing in speed and also making you more likely to commit. Once you start hitting bigger jumps, keep hitting them more and get comfortable.
