How can I fix this

So at somepoint today I lost my tip protector. I don't have the metal, any ideas of how to semi fix this? My current thought is a shit ton of jb weld then sand it down.

Just about everyone I know has lost at least one of them, ptex falls right out so id try the JB weld, lmk if it works.

If you have access to a few basic tools, you could buy some 2x4 hanger bracket(s) from home Depot for like
