How bad is it to have a ski mounted 3 times?

I found a pair of used skis online for cheap, the only thing is that they have been mounted twice, which means i have to mount them again, so my question is, Is it still worth it? should i be worried the core of the skis will be weak if its been mounted so many times?

I always heard the general rule is no more than 3, but I'm guessing its probably different for different skis.

I skied a pair of k2 pe's all year last year that are on there 3rd mount. They are working fine for me.

3 is fine. obviously not ideal but it will work.

arn't to many materials that are not weakened by drilling holes and removing materialIu'd be more concerned about where your planned mount aligns w/ previous mounts than an overall 3rd

most snapped cores ive seen tend to be when last mount is not the most forward

I have some seth vicious's with approximately 5 mounts and they are still great.

3 mounts isnt bad but its the most you want to mount. the bigger concern i would be worried about is holes overlaping and being able to find a spot to mount the bindings that is still where you would want to mount them

3 will work fine as long as you're not super close to the holes on the other mounts. My skis for the summer setup which I absolutely thrash on haven't had any problems at all with 3 mounts
