How are twintips length measured by different brands?

Do they measure directly from tip to tip or take the actual edge of the ski (including curvature of the tips)?

Which ski brands does what for twintips?

K2 and line don't measure their skis from tip to tail, they only measure the running length (the area under the ski that actually rides on the snow).

Most brands measure their skis from tip to tail.

So if you would measure line and K2 skis from tip to tail like most of the other brands are they than a couple of inches longer?

thanks btw +K

Yes the k2s and line are longer than what they are "supposed to be". For example, a 179 K2 ski will be longer than a 179 salomon ski.

i dunno about line. the 182 bacons i had were definitely shorter than my 181 blue steeles...

and on3p measures true to size so the bacons should've been longer in that case.

Line SFB 178 = 174cmLine Anthem 178 = 178cm

K2 Domain 179 = 181cm

Salomon Suspect 181 = 178cm

Atomic Punx 173 = 171cm

Head JO 163 = 161cm

Armada AR6 176 = 176cm

All measured Tip to tail.

As you can see the length are only a hint how long the skis actually are.

I thought that K2 had rectified their sizing issue as of last year, there are some companies that post lengths based on the length of the materials going into the press.
