Housing in Government Camp This Summer

Me and two friends are trying to head out to Timberline this summer from June 20 to July 25 to do some skiing. We worked out there at MHSSC the past two year so we are pretty familiar with the area, and while I was looking around for housing for that time range everything was nightly rates coming out to a total of about 3500-4000. I was curious if anyone in the area new about anything cheaper. We are looking to spend 1000-2000 for the month. We are also looking for more roommates if anyone is interested. Posts like this seem to pop up every year around this time. Bored at work I searched the Portland Craigslist for Government Camp housing... there is actually quite a few houses in and around Govy up for rent right now and definitely worth a look. Personally I think camping is the best way to go as long as you time it right, as in after the rains. Plenty of public lands for camping if you know where to look and are wiling to live a decent way off the beaten path. Sounds like you know what you're doing, hoping this can help a few other summer shredders out as well. And as always, just don't be an asshole... there is nothing more annoying that summer park rats acting like they own the place.
 
does anybody know what the deal is with the summits? i've tried calling them a few times but the phone never gets picked up. i know it used to be employee housing for t-line, but wanted to see if they rent month to month?
 
they do rent month to month i'm living up there right now. you probably have to go to the high mountain cafe in govy to talk to the landlord. i've never had any luck with the phone
 
there are a few choices for rooms that range from 300 to 400 a month and that includes all utilities. a lot of people are moving out so you should be able to find a room pretty easy

anyone got a place or know of any chill houses around the area that are looking for roomates? all of july and maybe august too?
