Hotronic Boot Heaters

Alright, so I know nothing about boot heaters...

I need them really bad right now because I got frostbite on my toes pretty fucking good over the past couple weeks without knowing what it was.

Easy transfer to new boots?

Battery life?

Cost?

Any info you could give me here would be great.

i know your talking about electric boot heaters but have you tried just foot warmers? they may do the trick and be a lot cheaper. i did a quick google search of electronic boot heaters and they go for like 120 where i looked. but i would try these first. they cost like 5 bucks.

Yeah I think those boot warmers (the cheap insert things) will work well. My boots suck (thats besides the point) and my feet get cold, so I put them in yesterday and skied on a rail in my backyard. I know thats not the same as being at a hill, but my toes were warm, and actually hot. I had to take my boots off to cool my toes down a little.
 
Alright, so my girlfriend has them and loves them. She has Hottronics and they probably cost and upwards of 175$. But you say you work at a ski hill so maybe proforum? They last a long time on the lower temp settings power setting at 1 or 2 (less heat) but on the highest temp setting they only last like 6 hours. They charge up overnight and a fairly convinient to install on boots. Some cutting my be required but they are pretty simple to install. However, you might beable to get spair battery packs aswell. Hope that helps
 
at least $220 at my shop, but that includes installation.

its a bitch to install too. but i havent heard bad things yet, so it may be worth it
 
same here. i've heard they work wonders though and most people never need to use high heat either (so the battery ends up lating longer).
 
in fact, $220 isnt that much

some lady was planning on buying an entire box of hand warmers and an entire box of foot warmers. it was going to come out to like 150ish, but that will last you like, 40 days at most?

so if you think about it, hottronics arent that expensive, especially if you can find a good deal.

lots of chicks like them, and even some boots (i know my agent 110s) have pre cut slots to wire them up.

make sure they do them right though, i've seen it done wrong and thats not good...
 
aspen: I have a buddy that owns a shop i got mine at cost about 3 years ago (110 i think). Not that big of a deal to install...takes maybe 15 min. They work great. single charge will get you through the day. Every one I know that has them has lost at least one bettery including myself so make sure you have them on your booster strap or boot REALLY GOOD. One of mine died 1/2 way through last year - I never replaced it and have not gotten new ones (lazy). I got prolly 100 days out of it dont ues 'em in the spring obviously and ski 100+ days/yr

Since you have to be on the snow all day I'd get them nothing sux worse than frozen toes.
 
Well for right now I want to keep these boots that I don't really like all that much warm. Next season I will be on FT's with footbeds and cat tracks.
