Cam Riley or a hall depending on what you mean by skiing rails. Riley was probably the best at grinding rails, locking in to fucked kinks and sliding sketchy rusty aluminum. Like I don’t think there’s a single rail peak Riley wouldn’t grease, but for technical rail tricks it’s def a hall.

To be fair not many people are actually progressive. Like I would still put siver voll in the highest tier of rail skiers, but he literally just greases fucked kinks and throws karseter spins on street spots.

IDK if you meant that in a bad way but I think a lot of the best rail skiers have never really been creative or progressive, just good at skiing rails.

Like no one ever talks about max hill despite the fact that he invented so much shit and progressed the fuck outta new wave skiing, they just talk about the bunch because they were good at it.

I think in terms of NBDs and influence it has to be Will Wesson though. The amount of taps and variations that man has done along with moving into 5050s and surface swaps and presses is actually insane

You’re not wrong but I feel like a big part of “being the best” is just as much heavy on the style or originality or execution or difficulty as it is on the technicality of the trick itself.

for example (on paper) I feel like a backslide b2 , let’s say on a longer rail, is wayyyyy harder than let’s say a 2 cont 6. Yeah spins are spins but sometimes I feel like the spin aspect of a trick is prioritized too high in the eye of the viewer, rather than the given difficulty. (The ability to get a motion going , in this case the 270, without the help of pedaling both feet.

what do you mean by best rail skiers? Cuz there's more to being a good rail skier than technicality. Style and trick selection are important too
