A couple buddies and I (3) are heading to mt hood over thankgiving. I am just starting to look for places to stay. Any suggestions?

we are open to hostels, camping or potentially a hotel.

Thanks for the help and if you could be specific and not just say "government camp" that would be helpful.

well it's gonna be raining or snowing during that time so f camping. get hotel in g camp/rhododendron/hood river? i'd personally take hood river...at least some resemblance of night life/activity

Hit up MHSSC or Cascade lodge (HCSC), they both work kind of like hostels in the winter, I think they cost something like $45 a night

Ok so skiing depends on a few things so here goes.

SKibowl Pros: cheap, really good on a powder days, rope tow

cons: bad park, slow lifts

Tline: Pros: might have a good park probably not at thanksgiving, mile laps

cons: flat, shitty on pow day

Meadows: Pros: Baller terrain in some spots, some park, good on a pow day, good natural tranny

Cons: Expensive, park isnt usually as fun as tline but sometimes is

Mile doesnt open until like mid winter my dude, im assuming you meant palmer laps. hopefully there will be enough snow to open the lower mountain by thanksgiving this year, and palmer laps wont be necessary.

I work at the Best Western in Govy. cant get you any crazy deal but our rates are pretty reasonable during that time. Thanksgiving week most our nights are 116.99 + tx if you are a Best Western Rewards member or AAA Thanksgiving night and day after are 125.9 + tx.These rates are for our Double Queen room. This rate includes a dinner types snack each night and a continental breakfast in the AM.

***these rates only stand for this moment in time and may go up as we get closer to the dates.

If you're gonna camp I would stick to the east side of the mountain, less likely to get rained on but there's a decent amount of snow everywhere right now.

Probably the best western is your best bet unless you want to ball out and rent a condo at Collins Lake.

Also think about the Snow Line Motel, I know they just got bought and might be in a little better condition than they have been in the past, anyone know info on that?

Hopefully we get a little more snow for your trip!
