Hood Public Park

So Last night a friend and I made the drive down to hood to camp out a few days and ski the public park.

I had heard such good things about it and was super stoked to be getting to go.

So we stayed last night got up this morning and hit the hill only to find out that after you ski through the park you have to take your skis off and hike down the hill like a few hundred yards only to get back on the chair. What is up with that for 52 bucks you get jew'ed we ended up getting vouchers for the tickets we bought and packed up all of our shit and left today.

I know its not much for promotion but mabe they could somehow let you know the current conditions.

It melted out a lot, I don't know about a few hundred yards but it's a decently long walk now

dude i knoow its rough. pretty rough shape, i was at MHSSC for 7 days 2 weeks ago. despite the bad public park, and dumb hiking stuff, it was still the time of my liiife. ide hike that any day to be able to ride in the summer.

it sucks, but what're you gonna do? I was there a few weeks ago and had to hike back to the chair every day but the first. I'm stoked i at least got to ride one day when laps were possible. if lapping is that important. really, i was fine paying $52 bucks to ski in july. you should have just been stoked you were skiing.

There is a lot of threads about this in the Oregon forums. Ya we are gonna go to hike, it will shorten the trip and probably the number of people that will go but I'm still stoked!

the snow on timberline melts steadily all summer. i remember the first day of windells we could ski down to the magic mile but after two days you had to walk a bunch of the hill. Its just how Hood gets in the summer.

oh fuck. you had to walk to ski. cry me a river you whiny ass bitch, your an embarrassment.

Someone didn't do his research... I was skiing there sunday and today and it was pretty fun, the tickets were expensive but I guess thats what happens when they have 25 kids poaching the park every day. The tickets are actually worth it if you venture away from the park for a while and go ski the top.

oh heres the set up sort of, cant exactly remember it, some of the lengths might be off a little.

pipe

20'ish table

30'ish step up

giant propane tank

20' flat box

30' double barrel urban on (PITA to get speed)

rainbow

C box

urban down box

mini cannon rail

down rail

C box

That's pretty much the park I ride... DURING THE WINTER
I'd be stoked to ride it but I agree that 52$ is pretty expensive

pipe - pretty good actually2 jumps - terrible, small, flat, and not worth the hike or chair lift trip"giant" propane tank - didnt know 5 feet long was giant20 ft flat box - lie, more like 1030 ft double barrel - once again, more like 20 and its actually there best railrainbow BOX - sucks, tiny, maybe 5 feet longc boxes - both suck real baddown box - tinydown rail - pretty fun rail

pup park at hood is super played this year, too bad

That step up is a bitch or it was we I was there, but everything else is great they had this awesome jib setup at the top for a couple days in july.

id say 52 dollars is a lot. but i would also be fucking amped to be skiing right now. i have a friend whos hiking the windells park right now and im jealous as fuck.

In 10 days there I rode the chair probably 30 times. Those 3 times a day were for laps in the morning before the park opened. I hiked the rest of the time, and I hiked the fucking jump line nonstop for 4 hours once, probably got in 15 hits on it. I was stoked.

Stop bitching, you're skiing in july. You should be happy that the pipe is solid and salted.

a few hundred yards is true. to hike from the bottom of the park to lift lift is at least a few hundred yards. but its skiing in july/august, you cant expect it to be perfect

wow ur life rly sucks having to ride that awful park this summer, good thing im at home not riding cause that just seems like a waste of time, oh wait its riding in summer
