Hood Public Lane

Seriously. I would kill to be 5 hours away from Hood right now. Get the hell up there and shred.

"ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH?"

of course i would drive 5 hours. ive driven 5 hours for a bunch of stuff way more pointless than skiing in what will be July..

5 hours? I'd do it in a second, I'm 18 hours away from anything and don't have the cash or people to go with, so I'm just making do with tramps and stuff around here. Go for it dude, I definitely would. 5 hours.... thats can be a day trip. DO IT.

We just drove down from Calgary, and it OWNS.and it was a 16 hour drive and soo wotrth it. so hit up the 5 hr driveand the public park jumps slay

there currently 6 jumps, 4 of which are pretty good, and a plethora of decent rails. the pipe sucks, as usual. public will prolly be moved over to the pipe lane in the next couple weeks. shits really good right now though

lol wut?

but definitely make the drive. even for public it is very worth it. i have been fortunate enough to go to a camp every summer for the past two but the public jump line is always just as good as the private ones. plus there are a lot more rails in there this year

went there for the first time couple days ago. Felt like i was getting my fix of heroin after mount snow closed. Was an awesome time and th ere's so much talent there.

i was there a few weeks ago and it was better than the windells park its got a 5 jump line and sick rails plus you could sneak into the only 2 good jumps at the top of windells if you wanted to

public park is far up and skiers left, the pipe is further down and skiers right. When the top park starts to melt they move everything below the pipe.

the public lane is at its prime right now get out here as soon as you can. the jumps are nicer than they've been all year

its about 4 hours from seattle. im headin down on friday with 3 other heads. get at me if you'll be at the airstrip

can anyone guide me to pics or vids of the public park at hood this summer?

i dont watch edits so if any one can guide me to a recent one with it in it i would much appreciate it :)

i think im going friday/saturday

well its getting hotter and hotter here in portland......I heard thats the problem with the public park compared to windells....windells get prime spot on the glacier.

Public lane is def. falling apart and losing snow fast. I just got back from a 10 day trip out there and the day we left the public park had only 2 small jumps left and about 5-6 rails up. They have started to push snow to the run closer to the lift right under their halfpipe, so im assuming they are moving the park anyday.
Ride windells if you can get in cause it was pretty ill when i was there but hands down best jumps were at MHSSC. Go dig to ride there.

can i pretty please get an update on the public park possibly?

im headin out there to ski on friday and saturday

what does everyone do for passes? how much is a day pass, does the green pass work? how many people actually hike?

I've seen edits from Hood's public park and Windells, and the public park looks much better to be honest. Every single rail I've seen at Windells is urban style, as opposed to the public park where I saw a good mix between normal and urban setups.

Leaving for Hood tomorrow. Going to bike hood river tomorrow then shred some sun snow friday. Are there jumps to look forward to or only rails.

They moved the park to below the pipe and you could lap today, but the ride out was sketchhhy. That being said, I'm not even sure if you'll be able to lap tomorrow unless they farm some snow. You wont have to walk very far now but give it a week and it'll start turning into a hike.

Oh and the new park is super fun. Goes like this:

Pipe

Jump 1 (around 20, don't need much speed and the landing is flat. It'll get fixed.)

Jump 2 (little bigger than 1 but you gotta land 1 clean and sit on your tails to clear it)

Down box

Donkey dick

Flat bar

Flat box

Small up box
