since im a broke highschool student i was thinking about buying one of these with money ive saved for a car. my reasoning is that since they get such good gas milage i can start to actually save for a nice car and get one once im out of the dorms in collage until then i can do some mods on a ruckus and make it faster and such. stock they can get up to about 50 mph so itd work well for cruising around town without any mods. anybody here have a ruckus or any insight/ideas ?

here's couple of my favorites

just get a 70's Honda cb125 or something man scooters are not as fun. the older/smaller bikes are so easy to work on, and it becomes more of a hobby. in my opinion scooters get boring real quick.

i looked at a couple of old motorcycles but then id need a motocycle licences and idk if my parents are to down with me riding a motocycle

well, you'll have to learn sooner or later. Scooters are just as dangerous as a bike. At least you'd have enough power to get yourself out of a bad situation, if you needed to.

and be way more stylie at the same time...

get a zuma. 2 strokes are bettter than 4 strokes, plus the ruckus is a much more complicated bike, liquid cooled and other nonsense, the zuma is pretty easy to work on

fuck that, you can have way more fun on a scooter. Unless you're racing competitively at a track motorcycles are boring as hell, just windy.

Don't waste your money on a ruckus or zuma, unless you can find one for under $800 or so. I would just get a cheap tomos or something that can take a beating and still be reliable, not a Chinese scooter though

my friends have fully custom rucki. they make them look like street bikes not gonna lie. they have cars they just bring them out to have fun. definitely really really fun. if you can get one for a good value get it.

stock my 125 did 60mph

I have a cb400 now that does 90mph and I got it for 500 bucks.

I bought a cb550 once for $300 in non running condition, got it running in 6 hours. Sold it for $1700 3 weeks later after rallying the shit out of it.

I have my own ruckus its really fun thing to drive around town gas mileage is insane always starts super easy but ione downside is mine under the seat doesnt have storage which kinda sucks cuz u cant carry snything

my brother has one.

i dunno where you got 50mph from, cause they go about 60kph flat out, downhill, after you have taken two shits.

which means right off the bat, you cant really drive it on any road that is 60 or over.

and theyre not cheap. over $2g's new, used its still going to cost you $1200+.

aftermarket mods are pricey.

insurance can be nuts depending on weather you go M1 or M2 route.

the only time they are really worth it is if you live right downtown somewhere, dont have to pay for parking, and commute next to nothing.

but they are fun as fuck

and yes, im talking canadian figures and licensings eh

i had one of these, hit a jump at max speed, went a solid 20 feet and broke the spedometer
