ive heard of boiling them and stuff, but does it actually work?

or does someone else have a better way?

please let me know, as i cant afford to buy new skis, so i wanna twintip my old ones

naw, boiling works great, and it's pretty easy. if you use a blow torch or something really hot (i used a model airplane iron first), you risk burning the base or melting it. by boiling, it's just the perfect temp to bend nicely. just use a big ol pot, and set the tips up on some stools or a ladder so you don't have to hold them. boil them for like 10 min, then stick em in a vice and bend.

My friend and I tried it with a heat gun, got it pretty hot stuck it in a clamp and the weight of the ski and more heat just bends pretty nice. watch for it delaming, you might need to put rivots in the ski to hold down the top layer.
