Holy shit local snowbladers

i just came across these, they're out of Big Boulder

pretty good considering they never tried real twintips before

Stop they are ski bladers it takes no skill its like walking but with longer feet. I mean they looked they were gonna bail on 180's.

Gave me a good laugh if that was what this thread was about.

Snow blades are harder than you think, go off a big jump with blades on then you will see what I'm talking about.

Basic physics, longer skis = more stable

Basic common sense: More stable= Go bigger, be able to ride the whole mountain, and not flail on simple tricks

anyone have the link to that thread with the snowbladers that say they are the originators of freestyle skiing and are doing bigger tricks etc.... i think it had a link in it to a snowbladers forum? this thread was from last summer i think.

i feel like a snowblader would be an amazing skier if they switched off because of the redic balance and control it takes to ski, let alone do spins off jumps.

agreed

it would be harder to spin but they're used to having to land everything so clean. everything would be stomped on skis

i truly honestly just don't understand why you wouldent just use regular twin tips. i mean what are you really gaining?

you just look like a douche bag and make it " hard as fuck to land"

i agree. if those are "good" snowbladers then the vast majority of them have a really ugly style.

Maybe one day ill be able to take those seriously. but for now all i can do is laugh because every skiblader at my mt sucks. it looks like fun though i must say.

i was riding on the chairlift the other day and saw 3 of them crash into eachother at the same time. they're good for a laugh or two

your recreational activity (I refuse to say sport) belongs on the intramural list of the Eastern State College of Russia for the Physically and Mentally Retarded.

ok serious question... what happened to the snowblade bindings.I never had a pair so I don't really know anything about them, but is there a reason people don't use them on normal skis?

you can switch from skis to blades and it would take literally one run before you ace it.

and remember bonus pts when you shoot down blader from the lift.

ahaha well done. and ya, it might be harder to land on blades but in my opinion they look like a bunch of clowns so fuck that shit

i (regretably) snowbladed for 2 years before starting skiing. i can honestly say it helped so much with balance. along with me being the lamest 11 year old on the hill, it got me into park skiing... so i cant complain. i still bring em out on gaper day.

i thot of trying boards to tune up my regular skiing at times, just cant fully commit to getting a pair

they dont release when you crash, and dont have brakes. so if you eat shit you have a good chance of fucking your knee up and also if they do come off then they are still attached to your legs with a rope and will bounce around and probly chop you.

a lot of snow blades have normal ski bindings now but you can still find them with the classic binding.

I ride both long skis and skiboards. i have 171's and 110s. i like the inline feel of 110's but when i switch to the big jumps the big sticks come out. 50ft is the limit of skiboarding clean jumps. It also has helped my smoothness on skis. I forgot how easy shit is to clear and land. not having tails forces you to be on point. heres a fun day at snow on skiboards. I do both and I love both and I snowboard. does that make me A Third Gay? RoFl

ok, don't want to pass judgement too fast, not too long ago people knocked freeskiing and not long before that they knocked snowboarding.

That being said, snowblading looks pretty stupid. haha

At Blue Mtn out in PA there is a 70yr old dude that was there everyday it seemed like, listening to his ipod and ballet snowblading... someone on here should capture some video of that, seems lame, but in the world of snowblading it was the only time I have seen someone with some skill on snowblades and not some gaper.
