Holy fuck you kids are retarded... (and google still works)

I just read through every thread on the first page, and with the exception of 5 of them, all were completely void of relevant gear discussion, or were asking questions it took me 30 seconds to answer on google. Jesus Christ kids, have you all smoked away your intelligence and self sufficiency away?

Another fucking update for you: when a kid or someone asks about skis, "get _____" or "Get _noun_, they are _adjective_!" are not fucking replies, they are a waste of bits and the time it took you to type them.

Doug, since you will likely (hopefully) read this, you want to change the perception of your average newschooler? Delete those stupid threads about Saga and 201_ outerwear. There are three types of people who take pictures of themselves to model clothing: gay people, wanna be thugs, and 12 year old newschoolers (not that there is anything wrong with any of those). It would probably help deleting the 99% of repeated threads that boarder on what should be criminal levels of stupidity.

Also, there are more boots out there than full tilts. Come in to the shop and ask for them, I will still sell them to you, but dear god I am gonna go to the back and make fun of you with my coworkers, because walking into a store asking for full tilts is indicative of having a double digit IQ score. It's ok to leave the store with a pair of them too, they are appropriate for some folks, like the type who can't find the front of their boots. It's appropriate for some people to move around with walkers and helmets too. Both types seem to leave similar levels of drool in their wake.

Also, it is not necessary to shorten every word to a single fucking syllable. As an individual past the first grade in a developed nation with a higher literacy rate than Nigeria, you are expected to be able to handle words with multiple vowels in them. I heard a kid refer to some Oakley goggles as 'oaks' and 'crisp' today. I have no idea with the similarities that Oakleys and an over cooked steak have, but I could not decide if I should laugh, or do his future kids a favor and kick him really hard in the balls.

If you want to have a gear discussion make it worthwhile, and stop asking dumb questions. Actually get descriptive, make comparisons based on experience, and for Gawd's sake don't use generic adjectives. There are hundreds of good if not great skis out there. I am fortunate enough to get to ski many of them. Guess what, I had fun all all of them. Saying "This ski was a lot of fun, it has a great flex" is fucking pointless. Instead try: I really enjoyed this ski on for its ability to pop well of jumps and ease of landing, the flex pattern featured a stiffer midsection than my _____, and I found the tips to have more spring to them as well."

And last but not least, use the fucking Google. 90% of your questions have already been answered, so be a self starter and look that shit up. Figure out how rouse the site search feature on google, bing, or whatever else you use.

If you are still reading, thank you for your time and now please go and politely fuck yourself into compliance.

Love,

Cobra.

I really enjoyed this thread for its ability to pop up well during posting lulls and ease of finding it again, the comments featured a stiffer text body than my _____, and I found the responses to have more sarcasm to them as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, your writing style is superb. I agree with you on most things, while I don't on others like the outerwear threads. I think that they're just another way of getting hyped for the season. As long as there is only one.

He definitely doesn't mean "get rid of the outerwear threads." He wants to get rid of the STUPID outerwear threads. The ones posted by people who ignore the fact that there's an 80-page Official Saga thread. He doesn't care as long as its kept to a single thread. Because that consolidates discussion and invites a more...honest? dialogue.

I will help those who have no idea what you are talking about...

People, the best search bar for Newschoolers that you can use is Google:

Step 1: type in google.com

Step 2: go to search bar and type in "site:newschoolers.com insert search query here"

Step 3: the results will be much better and will actually search through whole threads for your keywords/query

I agree with this thread for the most part, except I did go into Sturtevant's and asked to try on Full Tilts because I had already tried on basically every other type of boot at other shops. So if your fellow coworker went back and hated on me and you guys had a nice dick tickling fest, well then you fuck off.

I do approve of this thread though.

Win. I thought about making a thread similar to this last night trying to browse GT. My biggest piss of right now is the dumbasses who clearly didn't even scroll down the first page, and both made a thread on the new Surface Blanks...

Original thread:

https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/705653/

And the stupid OP's who don't even know how to use the searchbar or google with newschoolers added to the end of the search:

https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/716707/

https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/716254/

Like seriously... WHY? Here is a screenshot of me google'ing 'surface blanks newschoolers'

usethefuckingsearchbar.png

Shows ALL THREE THREADS THAT I JUST POSTED, the original one being the last because it was made first... Was that so hard?

By definition 50% of the population has a "double digit IQ score". Otherwise valid points but NS is NS, let it be.

Why are everybodies jimmies rustled?

I dont give three shits if some mouthbreather asks "what poles should I get" or "SPK OR FT??", I just don't open the thread / respond to the thread. Problem solved.

I could not agree more with this thread, although, I must say that I have migrated to creeping TGR Tech Talk instead because it is more relevant to what I want to learn (read: less park skiers, Saga, FT, etc). So I sort of accept that the two are different and that I don't know much about a lot of questions asked on here anymore. But a quality point brought up in a very entertaining way.

Sorry guys I have a quick question... where can I find a pair of skis for under 800 USD that are between the lengths of 156cm and 186 cm.

thanks,

Big S

is it weird that I wear Saga and FT and take my skiing very seriously? I just don't ask questions about either of those...

or one could assume he wittingly was insinuating that boarders have criminally low intelligence levels.....

and OP, a big thank you if this truly does reduce the clutter in gear talk!

i dont agree with this. whats wrong with people wanting to share gear their hyped on? or ask questions about something before they buy?

the solution should be simple, if you dont like the thread, dont read it. you really shouldnt be getting so aggravated over what some people type on the internet.

I don't mind THE Saga thread. I mind all the lazy fuckheads who are too lazy to look in to it.

Other things I mind:

What binding threads. Really?

Ski's being described as a "big mountain charger" By kids who have no idea what "Big mountain" is, and have most certainly never "charged" on their 155 Afterbangs.

The notion that floppy donkey dick = more playful.

On to Sell/Trade:

"Make an offer bro" Why not post a realistic price for your beat to fuck FD clown suit. I know of one HUGE online forum the REQUIRES you post a price, or they delete the thread.

Having to wade through posts advertised as "Trew/Saga/The North Face/Orage" only to find out it's only hoodies and fucking snapbacks.

these people exist, but you said you've read through all these threads and it doesn't sound like you do, because every "should i buy full tilts or spks" thread is instantly responded to with "GO SEE A BOOT FITTER." there are these idiots you speak of, but there's also some people trying to give good info, so calm yo tits.

Yea, but then you have those fucks that browse gear talk looking for the low-hanging fruit, like "which boots to buy" trying to be that savior type by saying "go see a boot fitter" over and over. Fuck that.

And how the hell did this thread slip to page 2?

it only took 17 hours till the endless parade of of what ski how do i fix/adjust this and look at me in my steezy skittle garb bumper into page 2 and burial in the gear gabber circus

although the bro lookin for dynastar at boots and binders made me chuckle and cringe for sar

Main reason why I left Newschoolers for a long time. Only back because I'm trying to sell shit. Good to see someone out there is making a stand.

I don't know if this is true, but if it is that's amazing, rather than making up short words, kids should just learn Swedish.

I was just logging out when I noticed this thread, and seeing the author, I knew it'd be worth my time. I was right. I personally disagree with your overt bashing of full tilts (For people who can't find the front of their boots? What about all the people who used to race in them? What about Seth?), they work well for some people, it's just when you get threads entitled "Fulltilts or SPKs" where the OP is "which boots are better for park and a little pow?" that you know you have a mentally challenged individual on your hands. Otherwise, very solid post. Also, might I add
THE MAJORITY OF QUESTIONS YOU HAVE, IF NOT ANSWERED BY GOOGLE OR THE SEARCHBAR, WILL BE ANSWERED BY THE FUCKING STICKY THREADS. READ THEM.
that is all.

Just realized that the only thread I've ever made in here was about gloves. I've found everything else by reading descriptions on evo, the manufacturer's website, and through the grapevine in real life and on NS. It's not that hard.

SO STOP BEING LAZY FUCKERS.

Agreed there, i really don't think this is that much of a big deal, going to google to search for stuff is a pain in the arse, if the NS search bar were to work well, i would use it, its just such a waste of time.
