Oh yes, Avs are gonna kick everyone's ass now. We finished dismantling Detroit, now it's on to Vancouver, Minnesota and Edmonton. Anyone here think any other hockey team can compete?

What you fail to see is that we are in the makings of a Dynasty. If Ottawa still has a team, we will be the team of this century. Our playoff history isn't the greatest, but even the Islander faltered a few times before winning four in a row.

Ottowa's good, they're the only legit threat in the East, but the Avs are in the midst of a dynasty. If we catch up to Vancouver, which we will (we're only 6 pts behind now), we will set the all-time NHL record for consecutive division titles. And hockey is the best sport around, basketball players are floppers, football players only have to work for short stretches of time, and baseball sucks in general. Oh yeah, we dismantled Calgary tonigh too.

soccer is the only team sport I can watch and athletes wise I give them the most respect, I grew up in pretty much a hockey town and I hate the sport now.

 
hockey is so hardcore. the only other sport i can think of that's more brutal is rugby; oh and skateboarding (the sport that transcends all sports) but that's a whole other thread topic.

I disagree gdawg. The east WERE definately the weaker of the two conferences, but I think it's more even now.

Ottawa, NJ, and Philly are all really strong teams, as strong as any in the west. Toronto and Boston are contenders too. If Boston could get their shit together (like at the beginning of the season) they could be elite. And next year, look out for Atlanta. Bob Hartley coaching Heatly and Kovalchuk = OH SHIT!

In the west Detroit is getting old, and isn't the same without Bowman. CO made a big mistake firing Hartley. Vancouver is strong, but inexperienced, look for them to lose in the second round. Dallas is strong, and if Turco can keep this up through the playoffs, they will be tough.

Hohohohoho, I forgot the Thrashers. They're my second favorite team now that Hartley's there, they're gonna be good in a couple years with Heatley etc. Besides them and Ottowa, the rest of the East teams are pretenders (especially the Devils, they're defense was also 'amazing' when we kicked their ass in the Finals). I agree that the East is better than before, but compared with us, St. Louis and Dallas, no way. But it's all a moot point, because we're on a fucking tear, and it's never going to end. NEVER!!!

Ohhhh......yeah, we are the shit. I'll bet anyone on this site my wisdoms and skis that we'll kick Vancouver's ass Thursday night. For god's sake, we destroyed the 2nd best team in the east(Devils), and there is no way that the Canucks will stand a chance. If anyone saw the game, we slacked off in the 3rd period, and still won easily.

well i used to be an all star in youth hockey..i was awesome and i knew everything about hockey ever then..but i havent played in years so im rusty...but rangers,aves,wings and maple leaf's are all my favorite teams...and they all have shots...but im not too sure about the rangers recently...i think the word is 'suck' but one of those 4 teams or ottowa is going all the way

Avs aren't even doing that good right now, what are you getting all excited about. They have 64 points and are 6th in the west, behind Dallas, Vancouver, St. Louis, Detroit and Minnesota. I would say the 4 best teams right now are Dallas and Vancouver in the west and Ottawa and Toronto in the east. Avs should have never traded Drury for Morris.

 
Oh no motherfucker, we're fifth, and ahead of Minnesota. Edmonton and Minnesota are both posers, and are falling as the end of the year rolls around. Plus, vancouver is 2nd, and only SIX POINTS AHEAD. We're going to be 4 pts down after Thursday, and soon after that, we overtake them. Dallas is pretty much uncatchable at this point, but it's not really a big deal, because they'll bow out before the western conference finals, so we'll have home-ice against anyone else. My point is we had a slow start, but we're the greatest team ever in the history of the NHL right now. And the drury trade was bad, he was my favorite player and completely clutch, but morris is designed for the future.

Avs are done 2nd round forsure, They just dont have it anymore. Roy is washed, WASHED I tell ya. I still like the Avs though, but they have had there time.

Now in the east, Toronto is going to school all, Roberts is back on Saturday night, he adds so much to the leafs. Ottawa is done in the playoffs as soon as they meet up with the leafs, whatever round that turns out to be, a Toronto - Ottawa conference final would be good. But you guys all know how it goes when Toronto meets Ottawa in the playoffs, ha.

In the west, Vancouver all the way, I'm hoping for an all Canadian cup final, Dallas is strong though.
