just got an hmc 150, currently reading the manual and figuring it out.

wondering if there is any advice to be offered from the experienced users out there in regards to lenses, other accessories (lights, housings), settings, preferences, etc.

thanks

Not sure how many are still floating around but you used to be able to get DVX100 bayonet wide angles for really cheap, and they fit on the HMC150 if you loosen the 2 lens elements a little bit. Other then that I use an opteka .3x fisheye which is a good cheaper alternative to a century xtreme if you don't mind a little bit more vignette.

These 2 videos helped me for scene files and shutter speed. I put the same settings as the scene file in the video and it looks pretty good. I've tried the Cine-V scene file and it looks good too.

I got this fisheye from vx1000 market:https://vx1000market.com/collection...e-lens-72mm-thread-mount-hpx170-hmc150-hvx200

It comes with a spacer ring to mount it. It's supposed to be a copy of the century mk2 fisheye, but it's pretty similar to the Opteka and the Opteka is cheaper. Here's some footage I filmed with it:

I also got a Neewer CN-160 light to film at night. They cost 30$ on Amazon

super helpful thank you

nothing to contribute here other than that my best friend had this camera in 2009 and it was sooo sick. He left it in his car overnight one night and someone stole it, then he moved on to a Canon t2i. I would love an hmc150 in 2020.
