I know there has been posts about this... but i don't really want to look for them... anyways how do you keep your balance when you hit the jump because i am always afraid that when i hit the jump i am either going to go to far foward or too far backwards and tank it. Any advice???

the only thing you really have to worry about, is if your doing like zero spins.. if you can spin regular off jumps then hitting em switch shoulnt be a problem..... hit a 15-20 footer first, and just do a 180, turn around so you can see a whole bunch of the lip, DONT HIT IT BLIND, and when you come to the lip, pop, and adjust yourself for the trannie, and you should be alright, then you can work your way up to 3's, 5's, 12's, you know....

Thanx.... This might sound really lame but i have always hit jumps foward and only tried switch once so i was wondering if you do a 180 turnaround how do you prevent from clipping your edges and face planting it... The thing that i was told was to lean foward bring your tails up and swing it around... is that what your supposed to do... thanx

nah dude, dont do any swinging, you have to initiate your whole body to the trick, when you pop, just push off the lip, pull your knees up, grab, spot and land, try doing em on flat ground first... so you get used to jumping and not catching your edges... then once you get on a little table, it'll be way easier then flat ground..

thanx... i didn't mean off a jump i meant going from foward to switch before you hit the jump on the ground. But thanx anyways all this will help.

Before hitting the jump switch, just ski around switch as much as you can so you vcan get comfortable. It'll help bigtime when you go to the jump.

When turning around before the jump you just need to skid sideways as in a stop (but don't slow down) and keep it going till your backwards... my opinion is you should get a small kicker that has a TON of pop, this is because your normal tendancy is to hit it slow backwards and you would get no air time. If you hit it fast enough you don't need any spin before the jump to do a 180, basicly just whip your skis around once your in the air.

if your hitting a big kicker... no spining is ever neccesary... all you have to do is look over your sholder and your body will follow... make sure your well balanced though, or else your body will follow into a corked out death spiral. Also, yeah ski around switch as much as possible and try them off small jumps first... its easy to get the hang of it.

you were talking about turning switch, when you get really comfortable with switch and stuff, you can just pop up and do a 180, that way you can keep your speed up and won't have to worry about catching your edge or whatever...

whistlermann is wrong, you have to innitate a spin with your upper body if you want to spin more than switch 3

ya guys its all upper body when you go up the lip pop off the top of it and try leading with your shoudlers thats the best way and you can use a little arm motion but its all ahoulders and ur head. its easier then it looks. its just taking the balls to try it.
