Hitch Hiking in NZ

hows the hitch hiking in NZ and are there any laws against it?

Think its only illegal on the motorway, but its not too hard to catch a lift in NZ as long as you don't look too dodgy

its not too bad getting a lift in otago, and getting rides up the mountain is just about guaranteed

where would u be going from to. I would hitch around the cities. The south island would be sweet, especially otago

yeah im gunna try to hitch from taupo to ohakune on the 2nd of june, i guess ill see how it goes.

hey yeah, made my way down to ohakune, wasn't too bad for hitching.... just took awhile for a couple hitches, been in town for a couple days... just sorting out a place to live and work. Cheers mates haha.
