Hip Problems

Yo people

I've a problem with hip pain since some weeks and it doesn't get better...

When I used to crash one year ore more ago I had sometimes a little pain like everybody and after 1-2 days it was 100% alright again.

Now since one crash about 6 weeks ago I've always pain and problems with my hip for at least the next 5 days. Man that shit sucks so bad!

The doc didnt find any broken bones or sth like that when I went to show it after that crash I mentioned.

Does anybody have the same or a similar problem and knows what it could be or what I shold do to stop this shit from hurting all day? (Dont tell me I have to go to the doc, as I mentioned before they didnt found a replaced hip or broken bone....)

Bro I have been in the same boat this season. I kept slamming on the same side and shit started to put me out for longer and longer.

At the end of the day, yours and my situations are probably a lot like shin bang, and all the other stuff that skiers experience—the best way for it to go away is to stop skiing, and that’s not what we’re going to do.

I’m too old to be getting bodied every day and get right back up, and too young for a hip replacement. I went and bought a cheap pair of crash pants on Amazon with decent padding over my hips, and it’s made a big difference. A huge hit is still going to hurt, but the minor shit that would just make it worse or keep the pain ongoing no longer hurts, which is huge for me. Best of luck with recovery.

Thank you for the tipp and the wishes man.

I've thoght many times about buying crash pants, could really be a good idea. Are they comfortable or not to wear in the park?

do it

an xray will show you bones.

an ultra sound gives you a low detail image of tissues and bones (muscles ligaments and cartilage)

an mri will give you very detailed report on all of the above.

sounds to me like you sprained your hip. could of caused damage to ligaments, could of caused damage to the cartilage.

you wont know for sure how bad it is until you get the correct radiology performed. if ligament damage, could be grade 1 (some fibre disruption; 1-4 week recovery), grade 2 (partial tear; 4 - 8 week recovery), grade 3 (full tear; 8 weeks plus). any damage to cartilage is more tricky to asses the recovery. A General Practioner will hardly go past an xray if its not urgent and no imediate surgery is required, but he can give you a referal to either an orthopedist or a sports medicine doctor. they can request an mri if they cant answer whats wrong.

90% of the time from my experience they will just say rest ice compression elevation until youre past the acute injury stage (inflammation and fluid build up), from there its about re-introducing range of motion, strengthening and making sure the scar tissues your body is generating are getting layered up right.

im not a doctor. i am not qualified to give you medical advice. just wanted to explain how the medical process works and take no responsibility for what actions you take.

I wear them over my boxers and the only time I notice them is when it doesn’t hurt falling on my hip or outer thigh.

Thanks for the introduction. Wouldn't be a bad idea to do an mri I think.

You could definitely have an impingement or a torn hip labrum or something BUT whether there is a deeper injury or not the cure is still the same:

stretch and strengthen those lesser known hip muscles: hip flexor, szoas, glute medius, etc. it can be really hard to target those but in general foam rollin the length of your side (torso, waistline, knee) as well as band workouts, and yoga.

if your experiencing chronic pain after a crash then you know you need to do some

tehab! Get on the bike, get on the yoga mat, and loosen that baby up!
