hip jumps?

The Landing doesnt have to be 90 degrees from the takeoff. It is just where the landing and the takeoff arent parallel.

if u accually landed 90 degrees from a straight take off you would die, more like 45 degrees

hips usually have more vert on them so you can make a 90 degree hip. In some movies hips have been over 90 degrees.

They're kinda like two quater pipes right next to each other with one at 90 degrees. You don't get a lot of distance on them. I got concussion on one earlier this year, it was gay.

I like goin longer more, hehe like launching off catwalks after bombing down a hill, you go soooo far but the whole time you're about 3 feet off the ground (unless it really drops out underneath you, one time at Jackson Hole I found myself about 15 feet in the air). You can't do any tricks off them but they're still super fun.

At the closest mountain I live to there is a catwalk type dropoff. Its so funny cuz the hill is like under 200ft but you can go like 50ft, seriously, off the one dropoff under the main lift. Its so funny to see everyone try it and fall and shit.

yeah they are awesome, cause you can pop like a jump and dont have to worry about it being a qp but you get air like a qp

Grouse had one like that last year for the Wild Cat comp. It was sick.

that 120 ft jump in superpark was a hip. people started out only hittin it around 50 feet and landing like a hip, but as soon as they went crazy they were clearing it 120ft+ like a table

I can't imagine hitting a 120ft table. I would probably shit my pants half way up.

I would hit it without any hesitation, I used to be scared to hit big jumps cause i once had a huge crash...

After I did 40 footers for a couple of timne, my brain disconnected and I started doing near from 100 feets gap..

I love hip jumps, we had a sick one at sundown last year. They blew huge mound and we just dug it out.

blue had like a 40ft(or so) hip last year but it sucked ass. the landing was rough and pure ice. to show people it was a hip they spray painted 'HIP' with a bunch of arrows to show where to hit it on the take off and put an OptionNFA banner on top so you couldn't hit it forwards - but me and my friend got bored so we started hitting it like a table. It ruled cuz we had to pop like a mad man in order to clear the banner (our skis were like 3 or 4 inches above it). We ended up hitting it as a 50ft or so table to flat landing.

I used to hit the hip jump on the side so I ended getting lots of air and land on the other side, then, I saw skogne doing a hip jump and tried it like him...

that hip at blue wasn't that great I was always landing on the bottom of the landing. The burms were cool I got a little to aggresive and shot off the end of the last burm.

i think they should side tip skis so you can land 470s of tables, thatd be cool

they would just be like 2 big saucers on each feet that way you could land any direction, who needs carving anyway just straightline the jumps

hey chimichanga15, at afton last year the spine was kinda like a hip jump, at least how we hit it. so you have seen a hip jump, just a wee small one (20-30 feet or so) khaa! khaa!

hehe I've thought of that saucer idea before... the problem is is that you'd always be doing the splits! And if you wanted them to be good saucers, they'd have to have a pretty big diameter and so you'd have to ride bow-legged!

But it would still be sick. You could face all directions, and if you got good at it you could land almost anything, as long as your feet were down first.

i was thinking of gettnig the Saucer Boy 2000 or sb 2000 extreme, but saucering is kind of getting played out just like stream skiing

Yeah ROB I remember the spine there, it was pretty fun... It was kinda freaky doin 180's off it cuz I got more air off it than I'm used to doin 180's. If it's the same size next year maybe I can clear the whole spine and land on the downslope (that'd be insane!) BRING!

hey rob and chimichanga that spine at afton...I remember that. but anyways, what do you guys look like? I think I might've seen you guys there a few times. just message me instead of posting it here.
